The Black Plains. This is what the former residents of these parts now call it. The area was once plotted with grass, trees and homes for some as there were villages every few miles. But Rabecca's campaign swept across and destroyed it all, tainting the land. But with Rabecca's passing, that black magic wore off and life was allowed to grow but not as before. Haden stood there knee high in black grass. He looked down then back up at the sea of black that went on for miles towards the horizon, swaying with the deathly wind that whispered death and destruction and pain to the listeners and he was one of them. This age-old war has turned into something new, something dark, something dangerous and engulfing. Evil has pulled out all of the stops with this, making sure they can secure everything they fought to claim and stamping out the existence of good beings, primarily witches and elementals were top of their hit list. As he stood there dressed in a black, white and grey striped shirt and black jeans wearing a pair of worn out black shoes he pondered his place in this war...war. How did it get this far? Her greed is how. Haden Mathias heaved a sigh and looked up at the clear blue sky that seemed almost hopeful with life. Then he looked back down at the earth. His time had come to an end. He was much to young to be dead but he's played his part. He's helped set wheels in motion for more powerful beings to step up and take their place to fight for Good, for humanity and such. Maybe in time itself, he would return and see what has come of this, but he was going to leave this place soon. It may seem cowardly, or even appalling to just desert everything now, but his generation had outlived it's time by all that had happened. They did things that shouldn't be done...that shouldn't have happened and the future would pay dearly for what he and his generation caused. But that was the whole point...cause.

Raine stood behind his book, Nature's Blessing looking for a tracking spell...he had been scrying for Haden but he doesn't turn up in the map. "Hmmm...here it is..." he said finding the entry he was looking for. "Bring me to the place you're in Places that cannot be seen, Search through mountains and in seas Bring me to where you exist." As he finished chanting winds swept up the room and he felt the usual pull of his teleportation. He closed his eyes and with a chime, a warm gust of wind and leaves he arrived in a...plain... Confused he looked around and spotted who he was looking for. "Hey...Haden, I've been looking for you...I needed to talk to you." he said a bit awkwardly.

Haden looked around when he heard someone call out his name, followed by his elder daughter's. He squinted his eyes a bit as the stranger approached but it turns out it was no stranger just his daughter's boyfriend. Raine Andrews. Raine wasn't much younger but Haden took to calling him boy from time to time, gave him that fatherly feel over him and his daughters and it truly made him feel like head of his family. This boy was soon to take his place...well, Keri would be the head of the family but Raine would have to take care of the vigorous stuff. Haden started to walk then orbed right in front of him, standing there, arms folded, the deathly wind blowing his long hair in front of his face, concealing his eyes now and again as they looked upon him. "What is it?" He asked him.

"I just want to say....sorry..." he said finally getting the words out. "There's something I haven't told you about, when we met at your grave..." he said looking him straight in the eye. He was not going to be a chicken about it...he's responsible for it.
"Liah...got kidnapped when you were gone..." he said waiting for his reaction...his temper to explode on him. There...he had said it, hopefully when he lashes at him it won't be enough for him to get killed.

Haden remained perfectly still. His eyes locked onto his then he turned and started to walk away. He didn't want to hurt the boy, he didn't, Liah would hate him forever and never speak to him and he couldn't handle that his elder daughter hated his guts so he walked and walked and walked and walked until he stopped a great distance off. He exhaled then he turned and orbed back before Raine, most of his steam had blown off...but not all. "Your promise was to make sure she was kept safe. You were to make sure she was safe so that this wouldn't happen again. I trusted you with my daughter's...my family's life...and this is how you go about protecting her. If you loved her you would how how much she's like me...she's stubborn...more stubborn than me." Haden said fighting the urge to smack this boy to Kentucky. Haden turned away then he turned back, pointing a sword right at him, the tip of the blade inches away from the point between his eyes. "How can I trust you again...how can i let you be with my daughter if this is how things are done?"

Raine didn't even flinch showing that he also had a rebellious streak inside of him. "I screwed I know, but I assure you it will never happen again..." he said not losing eye contact.
And he did mean it...this time it won't happen...if he has to die...no that would be too selfish on his part leaving Liah like that, but if worse comes to worst then so be it.
"I can't just utter words for you to trust me...I'll earn it.." he said truthfully knowing that he would find a loophole there somehow...Liah did inherit her stubbornness from him.

"You'll better start working and you better work damn hard." Haden said to him, releasing the sword. As it fell to the grown her worked his magic and it vanished, actually, it's structure was turned into that of air. He looked to Raine silently. This was the generation that he was talking about, him, his daughter and the life and family they were going to start together. That was what Haden fought to protect, the kind of thing he laid down his life and even gave his life to fight for. It didn't want to see something so precious, so pure and unspoilt be lost because of what has happened. "Raine, listen to me...." Haden began. He may not have looked it but he was terrified of what he was about to say. "My daughter loves you...I know that. But I also like you, you seem to be a cool guy, a smart boy...you had it rough growing up, and it kinda reminds me of me." He said, pausing for a sec, allowing this scary awkward feeling to come over him. "I just don't want you to have to endure everything I went through..." He said, turning away for the boy. "You've got your whole life."

His bros shot up a bit surprise at how it ended. He had expected something worst...a broken rib or two, but seems like the old man wasn't into fighting today.
Another thing that surprised him was Haden saying that he reminded him of Raine. "Thanks for the concern...I never really thought of that. But I'll try my best not to take your footsteps...I want to die old." he said chuckling a bit.
"I love Liah...she's the best thing that ever happened to me. And I surely don't want to lose her. And I also care for Krys, sure she maybe a problem sometimes but I've learned to care for her like family. I've never really talked to Keri as of yet but she's also part of this family." he said gently looking at the surroundings...what had happened here? The trees...the leaves...are dead...he wondered whether he could change it with his power.

Haden followed his gaze, looking around at the black, dead terrain before them. He sighed as he was once again immersed in that depression he felt when he was there alone, looking at the sad sight that once was a place where life sprung in completeness. Seeing God's work like this just made him so pissed off now that he thought about it. He turned to Raine, he knew about his wood nymph background and seeing nature like this...devastated at it's worse must have killed him. "Don't worry...in some, something will come along to restore this place ad other places. I don't think it's permanent." He said, trying to be comforting but he felt that he was putting false ideas in his head. "Forget that...this is dark magic Raine. Nothing can be done now. The damage has gone on too long."

"Not if I can help it..." he said and raising his arm focused on a part of the plain...
Plants sprouted from the ground...from young seedlings then steadily growing...and then wilting. His head frowned as they all died.
He sighed in frustration and looked at the surroundings...no water...that's it! He raised his hand one again making plants sprout from the ground, after a while he raised his other hand calling out to water from within the depths of the ground making the soil fertile for the plants to survive
His brow furrowed with concentration...this was harder than he thought...

Haden stood back and watched his first failed attempt. he'd need more than that if he wanted to regain the growth of life in this dead place. It wasn't barren, just, magically dead but at least he was making an attempt, it was more than he was doing. He sighed then he held his hands out and water poured from the central points of his palms and and started to sink into the earth. Then he stopped the flow from one hand and started to pour some solar energy in as well. After a few minutes, he turned to Raine. "Keep trying to draw up water and try that plant thing again." Haden said, hopeful that they would grow.

"Roger that..." he said nodding as he swept his hands in an upwards motion making trees sprout from the ground. With the added help from Haden's solarkinesis the plant's steadily grew into tall big trees.
The grounds shook as more trees grew steadily making a forest from the plains. He balled his fist and kept the water supply steady giving the trees the water it needed...

Haden stopped supplying and allowed Raine to carry on his work. Right now, the plant life were photosynthesizing and growing at an increasing rate. Then Haden raised his hands up to the sky and the sun's light intensity increased some amount shining down on the new life. "Alright, with this plentiful supply or light and the water and re-activated minerals...things should get better." Haden said as he and Raine were now standing in a thick forest of trees. It was once a plain but at least it was alive, better than being dead. I kinda gave him a hope, that the future would be much better if things worked out better for everyone. "Nice work."

"You're not bad yourself..." he said lowering his arms and basking at the forest. "So you've still got it in you...does it mean you're gonna give us a hand in the upcoming battle?" he said turning to Haden.
Everyone knows about the battle...as Minerva had told him and Liah...it's inevitable.

"The Battle." Haden said shortly. He sighed, he knew that this battle would come from the beginning of this war, this battle would decided the fate of billions of creatures, magical and non magical. If Evil won, so much for humanity and a peaceful, free existence, if Good one, then everything would be back to normal, as it was, as it should be. He turned to Raine and smiled a weary smile. "I've been in many battles Raine, and I don''t mean those small battles between a warlock and demon or two...I mean, full scale, all out battles and like all wars, they never end pretty...never do, and they never will. Our side has lost many, but we still keep pushing on, but most have lost the will to fight so the few who haven't push on." Haden said, looking away from him. He watched a bird soar high above, most likely pleased at the sudden abundance of newly created homes for it's kind and other wild life. He led his had up to it and stopped it in time and space, frozen in mid flight, then he released it and it continued on normally. "I'll fight...but this is my last fight Raine."
