Nathan stood in a park with a great sigh continued reading a book of poetry for a class he was taking at a local university concerning eighteenth century poets. He sat under a elm tree thinking how in this world his kind had no real place to belong and merely sighed due to feelings inside. The Harlux kept a lot of these feelings hidden not wanting anyone to know of their existence and just sighed. When a kite flew overhead a couple of kids ran by and made Nathan smile because he wished there was a place for his kind. Harluxes we're the offspring of Avalon never truly having a place on either isle to belong and worried him that they'd never be welcomed anywhere.
When he closed his eyes to enjoy peace and just thought of the upcoming exams groaning in anticipation of them.

Lexie was walking through the park, her fingers wrapped around her knew pendant that made her belong somewhere, made her have a family. Sometimes the pendant weighed heavily on her chest because she'd made a big decision but then a thought like the embrace from Artemis and knowing she at last had the family she desired made it lighten. She walked along feeling the sun on her skin and lost herself in her own thoughts, not seeing the person under the elm tree until her foot tripped over his leg. "OUCH!" she exclaimed then looked up to whom the foot belonged to "I'm sorry," She said, her cheeks flushing a little red.

The Harlux didn't see a woman just walking along and looked up to see a cute brunette it caused Nathan to get up quickly and just smile in a dumb way. "Don't worry about it," said Nathan while continuing to smile at her before noticing how she'd turned red. Nathan didn't believe any girl would be bashful around him especially considering his track record with them and asked, "Are you okay,"? Harlux bashfullness showed up and just stared at her with a big goffy smile not really paying attention to anything else going on around him. "I'm Nathan," said Nathan while just brushing himself off and smiling at her while thinking how the day had suddenly gotten a lot better.
"I should have been paying more attention," said Nathan knowing how he just spaced off and should have watched instead of being in someone's way.

Lexie got up, her face still a little pink You think with all this power I could have got some elegance and grace thrown in. She thought before smiling at Nathan. "No it's my fault, really." She found herself smiling at him "I was a million miles away, not really paying attention. You were just an innocent who had me fall on you." She blushed a little deeper realizing how silly that sounded. "But where are my manners? I'm Alex, but my friends call me Lexie, actually most people call me Lexie." She giggled a little. Smo-o-o-o-o-th
She sat down beside him after dusting her legs off a little bit, she had mud stains on her knees but that didn't bother her at all. "Mind if I join you?" She asked, even though she was already sitting beside him.

He laughed at her for a second while sitting back down and said, "No, the company is appreciated," while picking back up a book after brushing off the dirt. Nathan just smiled at her before asking, "Like poetry," with a small smile playing across the face and just waited for an answer? The Harlux loved poetry and thought of majoring at it in college thought he didn't think it would lead to a career. "My favorite is Edgar Ellen Poe," said Nathan looking at her thinking of all the different poets out there and different tastes people had in them. "Tell me what we're you doing out here just out for a walk," asked Nathan looking at her for a second?

Lexie smiled "Yeah I love poetry, I'm taking literature as my major actually." She said and realised how dorky and stupid that must have sounded, but didn't let the embarassment show on her face - the delicate pink blush was enough to be getting on with without turning it to a bright crimson. My favourite, I suppose you could say poet, is Shaepsepare, I know it's cliche and corny but I love his sonnets." She decided she may as well go for gold on the dorky factor.
She smiled a little secret smile as he asked her about her walk, last time someone asked that she'd got a date out of it. "I was just walking, you know nowhere to go no one to see, just walking."She shrugged like walking on your own, in a park, on a beautiful day, was normal.

"Well walker I'm was going to get something to eat at that little bakery over there want to go," asked Nathan while looking at her for a second? He gathered up his things with a smile continued to stare at her and just waited hoping for a yes because it would certainly it all around. Nathan had wanted to meet someone and didn't figure it would happen on this night yet here he stood. The Harlux continued to wait for a answer while his heart started to beat a mile a minute and just smiled knowing that attraction was both ways. "Come on I could use the company," said Nathan giving her big eyes to get his way and knew it would work.

Lexie bit her lip, she wanted to go with him but wasn't sure what the Valkyrie rules were on dating guys and it wasn't like she could conjure up a portal to ask Artemis, that would freak this guy out! But she hasn't said I couldn't! She thought as Nathan pulled the puppy eyes on her, she shot a jokey glare at him "Using big eyes is emotional blackmail and not fair!" She joked and stood up dusting herself off a little, "But it works, I'm all yours." She smiled.

"Good, let's go," said Nathan with a smirk because the puppy eyes always worked on getting what he wanted and started to walk. "It's not too far away from here," said Nathan while he walked with his bag full of books and just smiled thinking of how the day had gotten better. Nathan asked, "Tell me more about yourself," while smiling at her thought of somethings that might be interesting to talk about while they walked? He wasn't the boring type yet knew women enjoyed a exciting and dangerous type of guy. "I'll start I'm originally from here how about you," asked Nathan smiling at her then rounded another corner with a smile.

Lexie knew she had to tread carefully when she told him about her, she either had to lie and remember the lies she told him or she could tell the truth but skim over certain details. His first question was easy enough for her to answer so she relaxed a little, "I'm from England Originally." She said, "I came here when I was 14 with my Foster Mom, but I don't see her anymore, we kinda fell out." She said, wanting to avoid family questions and thinking this would be the best way to do so.

"England what do you do for a living," asked Nathan looking at her for a second before smiling at the woman that had stolen his attention away on this day? He waited for an answer while walking around the sidewalk and just smiled knowing for once in his life that things had started to get better. Nathan just started to focus on Lexie when he didn't notice a man walking up behind him as a gun soon found it's way to his back. "Give me your money," said the man that his face covered and Nathan deeply sighed because it would only end badly for him. The Harlux played along for a second then focusing out his flare powers from a hand caught him on fire and a gunshot went off in the air.

Lexie opened her mouth to reply when a gruff voice demanded their money, she managed to stop herself from delivering a swift kick to his head and gut, which she'd seen a lot of Valkyries do on her frequent return visits to Valhalla. She saw that Nathan was being surprisingly calm, and despite her own calmness she couldn't stop herself from jumping as the gun went off, the gun holder looked as surprised as she was. He doesn't look like he meant to do that. She thought and shot a look at Nathan, his face was still perfectly composed, What have you done? She telepathically asked him, if he answered it meant he was magical like herself, she could control her thought that way.

He looked at Lexie surprised then quickly as the guy dropped his gun as fire lit him up and just smiled kicking it away quickly grabbed her hand. "Let's get out of here," said Nathan looking at her then ran in a attempt to get away from a bad scene do to risk of exposure. Nathan knew it would be a very hard thing to explain after everything that had gone on and just smiled at her stopping a few streets away in a abadon alleyway. "Your magical huh," asked Nathan looking at her with a smile then stopped catching his breath? The Harlux leaned against a wall he said, "I'm magical too though never seen anybody with a power such as telepathy,".

Lexie hesitated before following Nathan although part of her had wanted to stay and fight and, possibly, collect another soul for her new family's army she knew that would risk exposure and she wanted to know more about this guy. "Yeah got you were magical." Gasped Lexie, in between attempts to get more air inside her lungs, "I can do it so only magical people hear my thoughts and from the look on your face I knew you'd heard me." She smiled at him, "And you must not be from around here, there's a fair few telepathics about it's not that rare really."

"There are where I'm from you can say that," said Nathan with a smile looking at her before he just looked around and then collected himself. Nathan continued he said, "I'm from the isle now divided in two parts and let's say one of many resulting blood spilt that day,". The Harlux didn't go any further because he didn't want to talk about it and just stared at her remembering stories told from his grandmother. Harluxes didn't belong anywhere and could never return home due to the isles reinhabitation. When he thought about it maybe the two sides would kill each other off and then his kind could return home taking their rightful places.
