"...now is there anything else I can do for you while I'm here...I wanted to go and...well, that's my business but is there anything else I can do while I'm up here?" Haden asked but he was already pulling off his Elder robes. When that hassle was over, he stood there with the white and gold robe swung over his shoulder, staring the Head Elder right into his weary face and thankfully, the High Elder sighed and shook his head and before he could stop shaking, Haden had orbed, leaving his robes to fall to the floor, if you could call it a floor, they were in the heavens, it wasn't exactly accurate to call it a floor, nor was it wrong to say but this wasn't the time to ponder. He was given a ticket by a good friend of his to view a very old, very exquisite, private collection of art at the Accademia Gallery in Venice, come to think of it, it was a very low-key, private party and he only got a ticket because he was friends...more precise, this guy was his former charge. Orbing right into the upstairs bathroom, he stripped his clothes off and showered quick but properly, then he rushed out naked, towel in his hand drying his hair, then he stopped and dried the rest of himself off before he made for the dresser and basically got dressed in a pair of brand new jeans, a cool shirt and a long sleeved shirt which he left unbuttoned. Yes, Haden Mathias was wearing formal-casual to a black tie event and there wasn't a damn thing anyone but Keri could do to get him into a suit. He went over to his bedside table and took the invitation from the top drawer and pushed it into his back pocket, then, after one last look at himself in Keri's floor length mirror then he turned and orbed,
Minutes later, Haden was standing at the entrance door, holding his ticket as he approached a large man dressed in black, weird thing was that he was wearing designer black...what kind of bouncer wore designer clothes, it wasn't like he was going to be apart of displaying the exhibit or anything but his friend Yves was a bit eccentric when it came to simple crap. He handed his ticket over and he was admitted entrance into the old building which looked rather lavish as it was set up in an amazing way. People were everywhere, admiring the private collection, mingling with each other, drinking wine and stuff...in other words, this was one of those high-class society events and he was way out of his element. Then from across the room came the sound of a fork or spoon tapping gently but clearly, capturing the attention of all who turned to the individual who stood on the podium high above the rest. "Good evening friends, family and esteemed guests..." Yves began with his pleasant tone and as he went on, Haden backed himself to a dark part at the back of the room, his arms folded, just standing there, being his ol' attentive self.

Jordan was invited from one of his father's collegues to attend the new collection in Venice. He was happy to say yes, one, he was able to go to Italy, and second, he had to keep up his father's appearance. Though he had passed only a few months ago, it seemed like he owed it to him. As he had his guards around him, which he thought was always entertaining, he was accepted without needing to give his ticket.
Walking into the cool galley compared to the heat outside, in his formal white buttoned shirt, and black tie which almost hit his waist, he wore a long black trenchcoat, which he seemed to be loving at the moment and wore it to all the formal events for his father's behalf.
As he watched the art, he noticed a man with long dark hair in semi casual clothes in the corner. As he looked a little closer, he noticed him. It was the man he had seen in the suit shop in LA not but a while ago. It was the fiasco with the kid, and saying it was his father. Wanting to say hello, he walked over. His bodyguards following suit. "Don't I know you?" Jordan asked quickly watching the painting and the man.

Haden took a champagne glass from a passing waiter and sipped it comfortably as he listened to Yves go on about his collection, the long journeys it took to find each and every one and the financial and sentimental worth each of them had to him though Haden knew how Yves preferred to have deep pockets than a touched heart any day, these days, most collectors claimed to be more interested in art pieces and their internal meaning and their worth to humanity and culture but they were just a bunch of money-grabbing hustlers and Yves was like that, before he met Haden, now he is 90% into the art itself but he wouldn't mind making a quick buck, after all, it was human nature these days. "...so thank you for coming and welcome." Yves ended off with a flashy white smile. Haden smirked then he raised his glass to the host then he took another sip and he was about to push himself off the wall and make his bee-line for Yves but something else called his attention, more like someone.
Haden turned to a guy who spoke to him and he instantly recognized him, well, he thought he did. "Yeah. I think I know you, that store in Los Angeles...you're Jordan right? I'm Haden...I know you, but...I don't know them." Haden said as he looked up at the body guards that flanked the dude with raised eyebrows. "Tight security you got here." Haden said as he cast a look over at the nearest one and he was seriously going to ask him why he had them but he decided some things are better left unsaid...seriously. "Nice monkey suit." He said with a smirk as he took the last sip of his chilled beverage, handing the empty wine glass over to a passing waitress.

Jordan smiled as he watched Yves make his speech about his paintings. He wished his father were here, for every old person he met, they knew him, or knew his father and he had no one to help him with the list of people. Takinga gulp of the whole champagne glass, wanting to just get through this evening, he continued his conversation with Haden, who seemed to be noticing him, yet was a little....unnerving. Yeah he had security, but his father did so, so he felt like he needed to. Plus, it was fun.
He smirked back at the comment of his suit. He took another glass and chugged it down. Not wanting to take guff from Haden, but he was only thinking it was the champagne talking. "Well, I have to dress nice, since I am acting as my father...compared to you." he retorted lifting his eyebrows while taking another drink.

Haden smirked as he sent a waiter on his way into another direction for fear that this guy might decided to intoxicate himself and ruin Yves evening. "Yeah...I'm not one for suits, it's just not me, and I am dressed nice, I just don't want to be stuffed into a monkey suit...I try not to be anyone else but myself, what's the point in filling someone else's shoes while you're catch dust and grow too small for use." He said with a raise eyebrow before he turned his attention back to the podium where the curator was now standing, too talking about the time and effort it had taken to assemble this never before seen collection. "...in actuality my guests, you are the first and the only members of the general public that will ever see these priceless arts so this must surely be a privilege to all of you, and thanks to all of you who have helped to fund this endeavour, especially the representing member of the Helix family." The Curator said respectfully before returning to his transparent praise of Yves collection.
Haden remembered his reluctant company and turned to him...well...them once again. "Find it hard to carry on a conversation with them around? I mean..." Haden said, once again glancing at the nearest. "...what if you're carrying on a confidential conversation and they hear and one of them decides to spill what that know to the Times or whatever...you'd never know because you trust them...you do trust them don't you?" Haden said, trying to really stir this dudes mind. He was doing it intentionally, he would admit to that, but this guy...in a way...appeared a bit more hostile than when he last saw him in L.A. "Speaking of Los Angeles...why weren't these guys flanking you in that store...why here and not there? Never mind that question." Haden said as he just smiled the question off and turned his attention back to the curator but he could help but catch a flash from the corner of his eye. He looked around and caught this guy "trying" to discretely take photographs of the collection and he couldn't help but feel sorry but that didn't stop him from freezing the room to walk over to the guy who was in the process of taking a photo. Haden reached across and took the camera from him then he made his way back to where he was and everything continued as if nothing happened, only difference was that he now had a digital camera in his jeans pocket. "Nice evening isn't it. The collection is magnificent."

Jordan was getting more and more aggitated with Haden. He seemed to keep questioning his living style. Hey he was going to admit that of course he looked flashy at times for all the money is family had, but hey didn't want to flaunt it all the time. That was the reason for being in the suit store, in fact that is where he bought this suit, for the event. He decided not to let that question go..."Really? Cause it seems to me, that when we met, you were the one in a suit store remember? Looking for one, saying, why make a fuss? Just get one." Jordan said recalling the day. He suddenly calmed himself. He seemed to angered so easily lately, he calmed his expression and looked to him again. "Look, I don't want to fight, lets just enjoy the art." He said turning once more, as did his bodyguards and stared at the beautiful artistry on the wall.

Haden looked at Jordan with a calm look on his face. "I was in there looking for a suit to wear to my wedding...don't worry, you aren't the only one that has some degree of class...but you are the only one who flaunts it." He added tauntingly before he inclined his head slightly before he turned away and started to walk about the abstract displays but looking at it all just made him beyond bored...that was until he glanced across the room and saw the entrance to the room filled with the sculptures, some of which dated back to the early 16th and 17th Century and he made for the sweet, empty sanctuary...but that was before someone took his arm. He looked down at the feminine hand that had touched his arm, his bicep really and he turned and looked at it's owner. A woman, say late twenties, long brown hair, done up nicely, wearing a seductive black cocktail dress and she was cute, well, beautiful but he had a habit of saying cute, because she was like a girl to him...with age as the point of reference. "Hello." She said in a light, friendly tone but her eyes said something else as they examined him. He cast a glance over her and he smiled, as he did, he held up his ring finger. "Hi...um...do you see this finger?" He asked. She looked a bit confused but she nodded yes. "Well, my wife-to-be is going to put my wedding band on that finger." He said and he did it in the friendliest manner. "Hope I didn't come off rude, I'm just a loyal guy...seriously loyal." He said, and with that he waved her off and he made his trip across the room and into the room of statues.
The first one that caught his eyes was one of a man and woman, naked, and embracing each other as if there was nothing left to do. It was a very beautiful piece and it was deep in meaning, that being, it reminded him of his first time, his first time having sex with the love of his life and the only person he’d ever want to make passionate love to and when they got married in the next few days, everything would be perfect, it would be the way she wants it and that was what he was aiming for…he just wanted to see her walk up that isle in that white dress, seeing that beautiful smile when he lifts her veil, seeing the tears in her eyes when he says “I do.” and just having everyone they loved around them…it was amazing, and he looked forward to it, he couldn’t wait. Then, oddly enough, he started to smile, and if there was someone else in the room, they would see some guy, staring at a naked man and woman getting it in…nothing screams “perv” louder than that and he turned away, walking leisurely among the sculptures that looked so old, and fragile, it was shocking that they were so expensive, I mean seriously? They looked as if one touch could turn them all to dust but art gains prominence with age, it was the norm with these societal types.

Jordan merely looked at Haden as he walked off. He moved slowly as well. Gazing his way though the collection. He was starting to feel guilty. He had acted rude, and it was unlike him. Though Haden wasn't helping it much with his attitude either. Trying to make amends he made his way to where he noticed him being rude at the woman in front of him. He was angered slightly. So he is that way to all then... he thought. He came back to Haden and walked up with his broad shoulder closer to Haden then he was. "Look, sorry about my attitude back there. And I shouldn't assume, sorry." he apologized while looking at the piece he was looking at. It didn't mean anything to him, so he looked to another in a small glass display and he gazed at the sculpture instead which was of a Greek woman.

...amusing, isn't it...
He looked up at Jordan and he offered a smirk, not one of acceptance, but a smirk that hid so much, but that was only assumption, it could have been as innocent as the statue of the young girl striking a dance pose in her ballet pose, or it could have been a sinful, dark smirk that mirror the statue of an older woman, hold her breasts as her lover took to enjoying the taste of her neck, probably taking in the taste of her perfume which probably drove his senses into a double frenzy, filling his mind and his heart with ecstasy and elation, a state of feeling far above any he could and will ever encounter until the night of their wedding...of course...
He took a turn about the room and made slow strides towards Jordan Helix, the oldest son and one of the heirs to the Helix fortune and all that came with it. That family was one that emerged quite suddenly and for a few centuries it has gained strength in terms of financial and social power, besides also being one of the few but great families in the magical community. "I accept your apology." He said, stopping in his tracks, his hands pushed into his pockets, that smirk still on his face with an added glisten in his eyes as he stared down the gentleman before him. "I too apologize, I frequently step out of line, but I don't plan on changing that anytime soon. I see you left your entourage behind...it's a good step, bet you can breath easier now." He said before he turned and looked at the most famous statue of them all...The Statue of David, a diving masterpiece by the famed artist himself, Michelangelo. This piece was actually though to have been lost a few decades ago but it seems Yves has done quite a bit of work to recover it. "What is your opinion of this piece." He asked, looking to his reacquainted acquaintance to his left.

Jordan listened to Haden's sort of apology. He merely smiled and nodded. He looked to Haden as he looked to the piece Haden talked about. Jordan was not one to try and figure the meaning of art. Merely to gaze, nod, and move on. So when asked he was not sure how to answer.
He stared at the piece and actually was interested. The statue was very well preserved, and every detail was made very precisely. "It intrigues me, I am not one for art so...bare with me." he laughed. Jordan laughed a little bit longer, then got serious once again. "The statue is very intricut in detail, which is very impressive, of course since it is from Michaelangelo, and the figure it self...intriguing." he smiled.

"Hmmm..." Haden said, glancing over at Jordan then back to the statue.. Honestly, as he gazed upon the statue, he took in true essence of a man...the protector, the provider...the conqueror, the ruler...the nurturer and the safe haven...the strength, the pride, the fearlessness, the determination...so many things came off just by looking at this piece, but rather than bay on it through peering eyes and with a philosophical mind, it was always good to admire how well sculpted the piece, how much care and decisiveness and how much artistic charisma the famed artist placed into this one of many pieces, one of few that he actually liked and admired. "It is sad that pieces like this haven't been created in over centuries..." Haden said, throwing a quick glance over at Jordan before he turned and looked at a statue titled: The Kiss. A Romantic piece, and an exquisite one at that. "...it's sad that recent generations haven't been able to summon the vision to create pieces that can last through the ages, rather, most just work so that can make...a profit, to make themselves bigger, more powerful...richer." He added, smirking slightly before he folded his arms.
Looking at The Kiss brought back images of him and Keri and it made his mind quiver of the many amazing moments that were to come between them and honestly, he couldn't wait for those moments to come just as he welcomed those exciting thoughts of the past. "Mr. Mathias...so good of you to come." Came a voice from the room entrance and Haden turned around with a smile on his face, setting his lit eyes upon his friend Yves Vorres. "Hello Yves, forgive me but I couldn't pass up such a welcomed invitation...and it was a good choice on my part, you've out done yourself." Haden said as the two met and embraced briefly. "Well you know I try." He replied before his friend's eyes settled on Jordan. "Oh, this is Jordan Helix." Haden said, stepping aside so the two could greet. "Yes I know, i have seen in in the magazines and such, child of the Helix empire...it's nice to have you here, an honour to your father actually." Yves said as he stepped forward towards Jordan with his hand outstretched.

[green]Jordan looked at the piece as Haden did. Taking in the artistry. He needed to appreciate art more, but he was very interested in every piece in this room. It was the very heart of art, and art at its best. Taking in Haden's words on art in the present tense made him nod until the last part, where he slowly turned his head in a glare, but not in an evil way.
Listening to Yves come and talk to the two made him nervous in so many ways. He showed up to events to spread the Helix name, but he never met the people who invited him. He gulped as Yves made his talk to Jordan Oh god... he thought twiddling with the ring on his left hand. This was the last event he was going to without Gwen...she would help him trendously in situations such as this...
"Mr. Vorres, thank you for inviting me. I am very impressed with the artwork you have presented here, I am fascinated with each one." he said, but in his head it sounded like gibberish. "I just hope I can keep my father's reputation at bay, I know he would have wanted to come..." he said this to each person he met. Taking the man's hand and shaking it confidently, he grinned his boyish smile towards Yves.[/green]

Haden looked unmoved as Helix and Yves exchanged words only suited for men so high up in society, in other words, they were praising each other, their families, their accomplishments and that other stuff that no on really cared about...well, not exactly no one, as long as there were magazines and tabloids, the entire world is going to get themselves caught up in somebody else's business, why? God only knows but for right now, this was boring him so he turned away and started to slowly walk about the room, looking from piece to piece as he went, even stopping to marvel the statue of Caesar Augustus...a man so famous in history that for almost a second, the other statues in this placed seem to pale in comparison but art transcends time and empirical prowess...indeed...
"Haden? Haden? Where have you gone off to, my dear boy?" Yves said as he managed to tear himself from a bottomless conversation with Jordan to take in the fact that his friend had gone off wondering. "I'm here..." Haden replied as he returned to the two. "Just taking in more of your finds, hope that's alright." He said, always politely. "Nonsense mi' boy, you're free to wonder as you please, just take care of the curator, he's a bit, uptight if you know what I mean." He said with a bit of a grin. "So how is your wife and you grandchildren?" Yves asked. "My grandchildren are all grown, in their twenties now...and Keri and I aren't married yet, but soon, very, very soon actually...in fact, you're invited to the wedding...all my friends are welcomed to one of the greatest and happiest days in my life, when better to bring good people together to enjoy company." Haden said with a modest smile on his face. "I am most happy to attend, I'll bring a gift, and knowing you, you don't want any to expensive, or extravagant...simple...right?" Yves asked. "Yep, simple." Haden replied. "Good then, well, it has been good seeing you, and Mr. Helix, it has been an honour chatting with you, your father would have been more than happy to see how well you have kept the image, see you then." Yves said, and with a boy, he was gone and Haden was left standing there, looking at Mr. Helix for no real reason. "So..."

[green]Jordan was talking on and on about politics, and how the world seemed to be different without his father. He smiled and nodded, a trick he learned once. Taking another drink of champagne, he looked to Yves as he decided he was bored with him. Looking for Haden, Jordan only smiled in relief that the man was done with him. Jordan looked sophisticated as the two talked about Haden's wedding. Jordan wasn't going to brag about his own wedding, but he still let the Knisley ring flash in the light of the room. He was happy to be married, and he was glad that he had inherited a ring from Gwen's father.
Once done, Haden looked to Jordan once more and just stared at him. Jordan smiled boyishly and took another drink and turned to him. As he said "So....", Jordan didn't know what to say. "Getting married sounds exciting, I just got married myself..." Jordan said, but once he did, he regretted it, now he was showing off, and he didn't mean to.[/green]

"Really? I offer my congratulations then and my wishes for the bets in life for you and your lovely wife...if you accept it." Haden said, grinning at him before he turned and started to pace the room but he remained within earshot of Jordan. "I can't wait for the day to come...honestly, I'm just so nervous, but the good kind of nervous...you know..." Haden said, pausing to look over at Jordan before he smirked and went on walking. Haden's feelings for Keri have never diminished, quite the contrary actually, they have grown and grown constantly and marrying her, it would make everything official, and it would be truly blessed by God but honestly, with or without marriage, they were going to be together for all time, it was their destiny...their fate...and he wasn't going to lose her because she would have him for all time.
"You know what I want to see...I want to see her face as she walks up the isle towards me...I want to see her smile; her beautiful face as I lift her veil...I just want her to radiate with happiness, and joy and honestly, seeing her overcome with tears would make her more angelic, and beautiful and innocent." Haden said as he stopped walking and unconscious of it, he was standing there, his hands pushed into his pockets and he was looking down at the floor, smiling, picturing those crazy, blessed, wonderful, amazing moments he has spent with Keriann, picturing the family they have raised together...as a team, the greatest team of all time...well, that's more of a personal view of it. But seeing her, listening as Keriann Kodish became Keriann Mathias, that would be the greatest moment in his life, well, one of them...and it would most certainly be the happiest. Right now, Haden was so caught up daydreaming that he completely forgot where eh was and who he was carrying a conversation with, he just went on, blissfully dreaming.
