That night in Magic School had scarred her in more ways than one. She had discovered something about herself that she had thought she was well protected against, only to find out that what had occurred at Magic School was only the beginning of a very bleak revelation. She was lying in their (She & Haden) bed with the sheet up to her neck. She was not still sore about what had occurred with the fight between she and Max rather she felt tired, a bit unusual as she lay with her head against her pillow. Her mind was clearly abuzz and even if she couldn’t tell, her facial expression showed a deep worry. She turned to her side to see that it was way past her time to get up and breakfast was still not prepared. She sighed, turning to see that Haden was having a much earlier morning than she was, she had hoped he had done breakfast this morning as she felt as though she couldn’t find herself from her bed.
Her magic had grown much. She had accepted the call of being an Elder, now she and Haden are the only known Elders living on the Earth. They, “up there,” thought it was strategic in getting the information that was otherwise inaccessible. For Keriann, she felt as though it was an even bigger burden for her, and a wider rift in connecting with her family. The once wild obnoxious and bitchy woman had turned into a gentle swan that went against everything her family stood for. It was simply a lot for her to chew. She sighed, placing her hand on her head and pulling the sheet up to her nose.

...the kettle started to whistle...Haden, who stood, more like leaned against the opposite counter, arms folded, eyes glued to the white tiled floor, looked up. Slowly, his mind started to store the cycle of thoughts he had in his mind like the fact that his brother, who he was honestly still sceptical about, packed up and left leaving a lousy note, but to be honest, his ill-placed, stupid words practically A soft sigh escaped his lips; he pushed off the counter and mixed a cup of orange-flavoured herbal tea, something for his wife. He took up the spoon he had set side and he stirred the contents of Keri’s personal mug, a mug he has taken upon himself to using on occasion, not intentionally, but if it was the first thing his fingers reached when he reached for a cup he was going to use it, provided it was clean. So after stirring it all up; taking in the sensuous smell of orange he tossed the spoon in the sink then, carrying the cup in one hand, he headed back upstairs to his room.
As he walked over to Keri’s side of the bed, he glanced at her brown eyes and he smiled slightly, those eyes always made him smile, even when he was down…seriously down. He set the cup down on the bed side table, then he walked over to his side of the bed and sat himself down on the edge, staring right at the window that face him, taking in the sunlight that tried to shine through the still drawn curtains. He could relate to that simple thing…inside of him, there was something that just yearned to burst out and take over, but he couldn’t because he didn’t know if that thing was a good thing, or if it was bad, or…or if it was worth even bothering over. He looked back at Keri’s eyes over the top of the blanket then he turned and looked back at the window. “Morning.” He said but he did so in a barely audible voice, not one befitting a man, totally in love with the woman of his dreams, the same woman he was about to marry. “How- How are you feeling? You didn’t look so good at Magic School…Keri…are you pregnant again?” Haden asked, looking back at her with and innocent wonder in his eyes.

Keriann had noticed that Haden had entered the room as always, but she felt a bit uneasy this morning. She released her hold on the sheet and allowed it to fall now just below her chin. Keriann followed him with her eyes as he moved from her side of the bed to his and placing the cup almost too gently for her comfort on the table. She thought, Did he already know?! Voices were screaming in her head, or stomach, already and Keriann had no clue how she would be able to even confess the fact that she was not herself.
Haden noticed even the slightest differences she made and so she should've known that he would've noticed her somewhat protruding stomach. She sighed and closed her eyes only to hear the words that had echoed across the room and crashed into her ears. Her initial reaction was that of shock, and most others afterwhich were not soothing either. What was she to say? "I...I dont know..." She confessed.

Haden looked at her with utter confusion and he quickly turned away, looking back at the drapes, watching the bit of sunshine that had filtered through. She didn't know? How could she not know? Don't women, when they sense these things automatically go and check, and in some cases, don't some just know...I mean...wasn't that the norm of things, it was some centuries ago and he assumed it still was, but from his angle, from the things he was seeing, it all pointed to the fact that she was carrying his second child with them as a couple. "You sure?" Haden asked, but he did it so as to sound oblivious to the fact, which didn't help seeing as he just asked if she was carrying, but at the same time, he didn't want to sound insensitive towards her because he wasn’t like that and he would never, deliberately come off like that towards her, she was his everything and he didn’t want to be the cause of her uneasiness but seriously, he was getting impatient with the fact that she might be pregnant and she didn’t tell him…who else was their to tell? Why wait? Having a child is always something so amazing…so is raising him or her…or them…excluding Ethan’s case, that boy was hell to keep track of, and his brother didn’t do anything to help at all…he always felt that close-age siblings have a bigger, deeper bond…maybe that was the issue he was having with John.
“I mean…did you check because from where I stand, the signs point to it and most of them are physical signs.” He said, looking back at her with raised eyebrows. He sighed, then he just laid back on the bed, his head resting peacefully on his pillow, his arms crossed across his chest. He looked over at her, and then he reached his hand across to her side of the bed, slid his hand under her blanket and he reached for the warmth of her small hand and he held it firmly. A smile crossed his face briefly, then he turned his attention up to the ceiling. “I miss our boy so much…everyday…whenever I look at Preston or Ethan, especially Ethan, I just can’t help but see his mischievous face…and every time I get those, those memories of us raising him, the fact that I failed him and his family, the fact that I wasn’t there to save him…it just keeps coming back…and the chance to do it right, that’s something I want. I mean, we raised a perfect son, I couldn’t ever ask for better because there’s no other like our boy.” Haden said, and unknown to him, he had increased his grip onto Keri’s hand. Expecting a child could me the most amazing thing right at this point in time, it was like a wedding present from the both of them to ring in the special occasion when their lives, through God, become entwined, and raising a little boy, or a little girl, to him, it just feels right. But there was something bothering him, was he feeling this way because he had the hunch that she was carrying, or was this real, and would he still feel the same if it turned out she wasn’t pregnant?
