Reid laughed a little when she commented about the mess. "I usually keep it neater and I usually wouldn't invite someone in if it was this big of a mess. You're a special circumstance though since you said you'd help me sort through all of this." Well, that and with her he wasn't afraid to be himself. He could appear to be just a normal teen and not have to worry about being royalty. It was something he rarely got.
He shook his head as he glanced around and picked up a book. Sitting on the bed he started glancing through until she made the comment about pulling an all nighter. "I wish we could, but my mom would get suspicious. I've only been going through this stuff during the daytime because of that."
He sighed. "I wish I knew what I was doing. I feel like I'm getting no where going through all of this. Spells don't seem to last long and potions only protect against certain things most times. It's like I need an actually artifact. Maybe a weapon, though mom would go nuts if she saw me practicing with it." He laughed a little at that idea. There might be a sword strong enough to protect him, but he sure didn't know what it was..... and yet, why had weapon become sword then?
((OOC: Sorry this reply took so long. I basically explained it all in my apology in the other thread, but I really would have posted if could have. >_<))

"Yeah, I said I would and I will." she said with a small smile. It was her job and not even that, it was her friend and she had a duty to help him out. She knew she had to do something about it, she couldn't just sit around and let something happen to Avalon, she loved it here, she really did and seeing something happen to it would be a shame, not to mention Holly would be very upset. It had been a long time that she had felt somewhere she could feel homey at and she felt homey here. She liked it here, she liked Reid, she liked Aayliah. She didn't want to leave unless she had to go or they push her out. "Well then I could stay for as long as we can on the books then." she said as she looked at him. She wanted to help and she wanted for Avalon and Reid to be safe. She felt a connection with them and she didn't want to lost it, she loved it here, it was like her second home and she didn't want anything to happen to it. If anything were to happen to it, Holly might lose it. She stood up and placed the book down while thinking for a moment, when he had spoke, she looked up towards him. When he mentioned an artifact, she was practically thinking the same as he was. A weapon. She walked over pushing books and looking through them trying to find a book on weapons. Once she found a book, she opened and looked through it. She flipped the pages as she looked at each weapon. "Excalibur. King Aurthur's sword." she said and showed him the page. "I've heard the stories...but I didn't think they were true." she said honestly as she showed him the page in the book. She looked at him with a small smile. "It's suppose to be a very powerful sword. It has magical powers, it's also known for the sword in the stone. Only the chosen one could harness it's power. The only thing is, It's location isn't really known." she said honestly as she looked at him. (not a problem

He wasn't sure what happened, but the moment he'd mentioned and artifact it was like he and Holly had been thinking on the same wavelength. She went digging through the books trying to find one, pulling up one about weapons that she began to page through. Curious as to what she was doing, Reid stood up and made his way over to her. He reached her just as she turned to book toward him, open to a two page spread about the legendary sword.
"Excalibur," Reid said in almost a whisper. Something about the sword just drew him to it. "Of course! Mom has the sword of Artemis, it's a sister sword to Excalibur. I've seen what she can do with that, and this would be perfect." There only was one problem, what Holly had said after telling him about the sword. The location wasn't known. It wasn't just a little problem either. If they couldn't find the sword, the it would do them absolutely no good.
"We could try scrying for it. If it's anywhere we should be able to find it. If we can't..... then it would have to be on another plane or lost in time. That doesn't say it's impossible to find, but it would be harder. It would also take a really powerful spell in that case, though it's not like you and I aren't powerful. You're a Charmed one and I've got the potential to be one of the strongest magical beings in our generation aside from you and your sisters." No, power wasn't a problem. The problem would be coming up with a spell if that were the case, though they should try to find it first.
Reid moved to the desk and started clearing the books of it. As he did he turned to Holly. "There's a wooden box over on my dresser that contains magic supplies. There should be a scrying crystal and a world map in there. Can you get them for me?"

She stared down into the book looking at the legendary sword it self. She thought it was fake, but after a year seeing things that she thought she would never imagine, she was starting to believe every myth was real. She stared down at the picture, reading a little more and more trying to find out if this sword was going to do any good. She figured it would, seeing as it was created with a lot of powerful magic. It was powerful, very powerful and she wondered if Reid could be able to handle this much power. She was a little worried but she didn't let it get to her.
When she heard him to get the box of magical things. She closed the book and walked over towards his dresser. She opened the box and got the map and crystal then walked back over to him. Her eyes showed that she was worried about this. She didn't want anything to happen to Reid. "Reid, are you sure about this?" she asked him, she placed a hand on his shoulder gently. She didn't want anything bad to happen to him, she cared about him. "This could be pretty dangerous and I don't want anything bad to happen." she said towards him. She didn't want to loose another friend, she wasn't sure if she could handle that. She didn't want to lose anymore people on her side.

Holly came to him with the map and the crystal, and he took them from her as she started to talk. Her hand went onto his shoulder as he spread out the map, and he turned to face her. His green eyes met her brown ones and he saw the concern there. Instantly his feelings of getting this done urgently faded in the face of a friend's worry. His own suppressed worries surfaced as she asked him if he was sure about this.
He sighed and bit his lip, worry showing in his own eyes now. "No," he said finally. "No, I'm not sure. I'm not even sure this sword will do me any good if no one but a chosen individual can wield it. There's hundreds of thousands of magical beings out there, and I'm only one of them. The chance that I'm able in any way to wield the sword is next to nonexistent."
His gaze dropped to his hands, one of which was clenched around the scrying crystal. "I know it could be dangerous, and that scares me. But the thing is, I'm already scared. Whatever is out there has my mom and dad scared, and they've never let me see them that way before." He sand down onto the chair, somewhat defeated by his own fears. "I'm trying to pick the lesser of two evils when there's no real distinction between the fear of two unknown evils."
Reid hadn't told his parents that their telling him what lurked out there and left him guarded 24/7 had him as scared as he was. He'd kept it to himself, and it had only really been after Liah and Raine had told their son about everything that he'd started searching for a way to protect his parents and sister. Maybe it was just a panicked reaction to the fear, but Reid hadn't known what else to do or where to go. Holly now was seeing all the fear he felt and hid finally find it's way onto her friend's face.
"I'm just scared Holly, and I don't know what else to do."

She looked at him and noted the worry face that was now coming on his face. She didn't mean to make him worried, she just didn't want anything bad to happen to him. She wanted him safe like any friend would. She wanted him to be safe, nothing more or nothing less. She didn't want anything to happen. She stared into his green eyes, a small smile on her face. She knew she would have to be strong enough for him. She had to help him, it's what she did best, regardless if it was her job. She would always want to help him if he needed it.
She gently took his hand in hers, holding it gently. Her thumb going over his palm gently trying to calm him down. She was going to be there for him, she wanted to support him more than anything and thats what she was going to do. No one was going to stop her from helping him. "I know you have the power to control it." she said towards him. She knew he was going to, she had faith in him.
"Don't be scared." she whispered gently and she sat on the floor in front him still holding his hand. She looked up at him and she gave him a small smile towards him. She kept on looking up at him, a small smile on her face as she looked at him. She believed in him and she knew he was strong enough to do this, especially if he had Holly to support him. Holly was never going to give up and she was going to help and support him as much as she could for as long as she can.
"I'll help you through this, then you'll be strong enough." she said with a small smile.

Holly took his hand and again he looked up into her eyes as she stroked his palm. That helped, and so did her words. She believed in him. She believed that he could do this, and that made him feel that maybe, just maybe, she was right. Maybe he could do this, especially with her help. He could be strong enough and he could follow through, he just had to stay safe too.
He nodded and took a deep breath. Then he said, "Right then. Let's do this." He stood up and turned to face the map on the desk. In his mind he focused on the sword, Excalibur, as he started spinning the crystal in a circle on the chain.
For the longest time he stood that way, trying to find it and not finding a thing. He was using a world map too. After a moment more he dropped his hand. "It's not working. I think you're right, the sword is really badly lost. Going after it..... well, that's not going to be easy and we could screw things up really badly trying to." He bit his lip, unsure now where to go until he remembered her words from earlier.
"We'll need to come up with a spell to take us to it. If we do that then we can cut down on the dangers of getting lost trying to find it, though there's still a risk of changing things if we have to go to the past to get it." There were lots of risks though, and it's not like not going after the sword was any safer. Lesser of two evils. This is it.
