"The powers that be, now heed my call remove this time, once and for all Mind once broken by a demonic spell be cleansed forever of a magic so fel."
It wasn't just the words. It had been the ritual. The time. The light, the candles. Everything had been just perfect when he'd began. Things had been right. It never occurred to him that this, of all things, would be personal gain. That things would take a turn for the worst.
Night had swallowed San Francisco like an ill-fitting glove, cut awkwardly for a hand that was never meant to be. Lights from various buildings still lit the sky, casting an eerie glow where light ought not touch.
It was in the middle of the otherwise empty park that things began to change. The wind was picking up, and the clouds were roiling violently in the sky. Space as everyone knew it was slowly caving in on itself, fracturing like so many shards of a mirror, inversing and reversing and spiraling in a vortex of magic.
For a split second, everything was fine.
Then all hell broke loose.
Magic, the kind of which this world had not experienced for a good long while, punched a hole in reality, and came spilling forward in a wave of sight and smell and light - fire erupted from the earth in a cataclysmic fashion that left nothing in its wake. Half a park bench was completely incinerated, the other half was frozen solid. Lightning forked a tongue at the heavens instead of from it.
At the center of this monstrosity of power and energy, three figures were flung forward. Two of identical height and build, and one even shorter than that, deposited more or less safely in this maelstrom of everything that the universe was. The three children, upon touching down, would be amazed to see that all of the destruction that had signaled their arrival was simply not there - the earth was fine, the grass undamaged. That poor, lone, park bench was whole.
Their landing was not gratuitously violent, but it certainly was not a pleasant one, either. Magic, when abused, would abuse in return. That was merely the way it worked.
In a small voice, from the smallest of the three, he echoed - literally - confusion. "Brandt...? Brody...?" He asked, though it was not his voice, but the voice of someone much younger. At least, to him.
The one thing that remained was the one thing no mortal would pick up on. The smell of magic was thick in the air, and did not seem to be dissipating, in the least. No, this place was now a special place - one of power and energy, and magic.
The place where the worlds ran together, even if only for a moment.
"What... what happened...?" He said, trying to get his head to stop spinning - figuratively, of course - from his now prone position in the grass. Everything was sore, and something important was wrong.
His clothes were about five sizes too large for him, suited for a boy much older, it seemed.

There had been a cry for help. Brody had sensed it with his new gained whitelighter powers, and he'd found himself unable to ignore this. It was someone close to him, and the danger was far worse than anyone ever could have imagined. Before he'd though much about it he'd grabbed Brandt's hand and orbed off to help, only finding they were both caught up in the spell gone awry.
When they were roughly deposited in the park it took several moments for Brody to regain his bearings. Things were just off. For one, they'd been inside..... some building. Where that building was had been blurred over in Brody's mind. For another, his clothes were several sizes too large. Shoes were like a clown's, pants weren't going to stay up and were for someone a bit taller than him, and the shirt hung down on him like a dress. The only thing that seemed to fit him at all was a pendant around his neck.
The voice made him look up. The voice wasn't familiar, but the face was. It was younger though and the clothes he wore were swamping him too. "I-I don't know...."
His own voice sounded off to him. It was higher, as if it hadn't changed yet. It wasn't really until he saw the other person of the trio that things really hit him. The boy that was in front of him was in all rights a mirror image of a younger version of Brody himself, but it stood at the same height Brody did. "Brandt?"

Brandt was the slowest to react. He still hadn't realized what had happened when he'd been initially grabbed by Brody. Now he was just kind of laying the on the ground enjoying the solid feel of it all after the magic that had tossed them around like rag dolls.
It was when he realized that his clothes were hanging off him really oddly that he'd slowly stood up and glanced around where they were. It was the park in San Fransisco. He recognized it, and yet something just felt off and it was the voices that cued him in.
He looked at the other two, who despite knowing his name he wouldn't have recognized were it not for his twin being a mirror image of himself. "Brody? Holy that spell was a whammy."
His own voice was higher pitched. His logical mind was putting this together with the appearances of Brody and.... he'd assume Trevor from the age and the appearance. "Trevor, you were doing a spell and called for help, right? Brody came, bringing me, and I can only assume we all were caught up in the backlash. But why are we in the park and what's with our physical ages?" He shook his head, logic didn't help much in matters of magic. Besides, if felt like logic was abandoning him at the moment. His mind wasn't as rational, as if he was actually the age he looked and had lost the maturity that allowed him to think in a solely logical manner. That can't be good.

"I..." His memory was incredibly fuzzy. Or rather, fuzzy didn't quite cover it. It was like entire hunks of his life were gone. He couldn't quite remember hardly anything of the past few months. "Yes... I was trying to change something. Something big..." Well, he'd certainly succeeded in that. His hands were too small, his voice was much too high. He'd never been a tall kid, but when he stood, that fact was infinitely more apparent.
His left shoulder was visible, as the shirt just didn't quite do its job, staying up. His pants, had all but fallen when he'd stood up, and he could just step right out of his shoes, no sort of magic was going to change that fact. He had to keep his pants tugged up by hand, lest they crumple around his ankles and trip him up.
All in all, this situation was bad. "I... I dunno. This... this isn't right. The spell shouldn't have done anything like this..." He mumbled, fear forcing his heart to pound in his chest at a much more accelerated rate. They were kids! Well, more kids than they had been before. He knew he'd been older than this. Looking down at his body, he could roughly guess he'd lost about five years, give or take.
Magic. Well, this was yet another problem. No, the biggest problem had to be that he didn't remember the spell he'd cast to get here. Wherever here was. This park was just vaguely familiar... it didn't have anything like he remembered exactly. It was older, almost.
The younger boy turned to face the twins, as best he could without tripping over the clothes that were just plain too large on him. "I... I'm sorry. I don't know what happened. Why this happened..." He knew he was scared. He could pick up on both of their fears, as well - though, none of it was positive. "The spell's not in my head any more. A lot of stuff... it's just... missing." He added, trying to force himself to remain calm despite his distinct desire to just start panicking.

Something big had certainly changed, but the question was what that change had been. It didn't seem like this was what Trevor wanted. Not only did the park seem different, but Trevor and the brothers were years younger than they should have been. Brody could remember that, he remembered being older than this.
And yet, he didn't remember much when it boiled down to things. There were spots in his memory that just refused to let him view them. They slid past in a blur or didn't seem to exist at all in his mind. Brandt and Trevor were clear and so were memories of being older, but other things were just gone.
There was fear, and yet Brody was trying to keep it down. For one he wanted to be strong. For another Brandt's empathy would be wreaking havoc in his head with feeling his own fears and those of Brody and Trevor. It was hard though, some of his strength he'd gained with age just wasn't there anymore.
He shuffled his way over to Trevor and gave him a one armed hug, the other hand being used to keep his over-sized jeans up. "This isn't your fault. The spell had some problems with it probably and.... well, you'd be alone in this if Brandt and I hadn't come. I'm sure you like having us here better." The problem was, here didn't feel right at all. It definitely wasn't safe for them as they were now.

The fear was overwhelming in Brandt's mind. It didn't make thinking any easier right now. It just made his own fears worse and he was having trouble blocking it out right now. He was having trouble distinguishing what was his own emotions when they were all feeling the same thing almost.
He shuffled his way over to the other two, not feeling really safe by himself. He didn't feel safe period, but at least they still had their powers. If worse came to worse Brody could get them out. Even a spell couldn't have given Brody back his witch powers after dying and being brought back as a whitelighter. You couldn't raise the dead..... so to speak.
"Something about this feels so..... wrong. I shouldn't feel so helpless. I mean, I'm really starting to feel this age, like I'm smaller and less powerful that I was. That and just in general this doesn't feel the same. Problem is I don't know where we go from here." They had to have somewhere safe, somewhere to go home to. He couldn't remember that though. Wherever they belonged it was like it didn't exist here. That or there was just some reason they couldn't go there.
"Ok.... I may be new to magic, but I've never heard of a spell that could do all..... this. I don't even really know what this one did other than the changes to us that we can see." He shook his head. "I don't know. It's like nothing is making sense anymore. It's either emotions clouding my judgement or I'm thinking like a kid again, which means I've lost some of my logic and rationality and we're in deep trouble." Though.... from the looks of it deep trouble didn't even begin to cover the situation.

He was in the park while just working on a paper for school when with a smile just laid back to have a nice long nap on a beautiful day. Draco had been avoiding his family since the grandfather was always out and nobody else seemed to be around when needed. The young hybrid sighed before noticing a storm coming up and went to gather his books when he saw some guys that seemed a little confused. When he had gathered them just shook his head and couldn't wait to interfere with a smile went underneath a shelter. His thoughts we're plagued by past memories of the family that was no longer around and waited for the storm to pass.
The hybrid was worried about getting wet due to getting wet and exposing a very dormant mermaid side that didn't show very often. His powers revolved around the ocean yet felt very lost lately with no where to turn and no one was around not even the cousins.

He was more than thankful for that assuring hug - there were feelings there that had nothing to do with memory. They were a couple. Had been, at least. There was more, though, that was clouded by that invasive fog that covered his memory. The darkness that had come with their arrival shifted away - a storm, however, was coming on. A side effect of the misplaced trio? Who knew?
He bit his lip uncertainly, trying to decide if there was an action he could take. A reversal spell. Well, without remembering the exact wording, it would be impossible for them to come up with something like that so quickly. Not to mention, they were all children. Real children - and it was affecting them. As if the maturity they'd once had was fading away with the years that they'd lost in whatever had gone so wrong.
His nose twitched slightly, as he leaned in to Brody - a comfortable position, even though he was still shorter than him. "I was trying to rewrite history. I remember that. I was trying to... to make it so that... something bad didn't happen. There was a demon involved..." His eyes were squinted in concentration - he could feel, though, deep down, something was wrong. Something else that was missing. He reached out a hand to Brandt, to try and help him by Negating his power for a little bit. That would at least help his jumbled thoughts.
But nothing happened. That familiar nothingness that usually slipped from his fingertips either did not exist, or remained dormant, unheeding of his call. "I think I lost one of my powers. I can't... uhm... shut Brandt's power off." He tried once more, this time using both hands, which ended in him losing his pants in a bunch around his ankles. Not that it mattered - the shirt he was wearing more than covered everything. It almost reached his knees. Was he really that much taller in five years?
But still, nothing happened. He tugged up his pants desperately, wishing he hadn't done something so stupid. It was then that he could pick up vaguely on a fear. Everyone had them, and they all registered in his mind, one way or another. His head cocked in the direction of the other boy - "Uhm... someone's coming..." He whispered to the twins, hoping that his own sense of urgency wouldn't betray him. Of course, he wasn't thinking that straight, either - the clouds were creeping ever closer, drawing a shower their way. They probably couldn't withstand it in clothes so big...

I was trying to rewrite history. I remember that. I was trying to... to make it so that... something bad didn't happen. There was a demon involved..." The words made Brody think for a moment. He was losing his calm, very slowly but surely. He wanted to be the protector, but he wasn't sure himself what to do. "Trev.... do you think there could have been personal gain in the spell? That could be what cause this somehow."
That idea had a slight hole blown in it when Trevor couldn't use one of his powers. Brody knew Trevor used to be able to shut powers off so to speak, but what could have taken that away? Even if this was personal gain, it had been a real big personal gain effect to cause all of this.
Brody couldn't help but glance up at the clouds rolling in. They couldn't go through a storm in this state. Whether this was more personal gain backlash or not he wasn't sure. If what had happened already was personal gain or the spell gone wrong somehow, then who knows what they could have done.
"I should try to orb us somewhere. Trevor lost a power, so I'm not sure what happened to me. If orbing doesn't work we'll know I somehow turned back into a witch, which is probably impossible." He shook his head. "It's all I can think to do right now. I wish there was more, but I'm losing my ability to stay calm. We're.... it's like we're becoming these physical ages." Whatever had happened, it wasn't good. Brody only wished he could figure out what to do and protect his brother and friend. But he couldn't even keep himself from losing his calm right now. He was very honestly scared.

Brandt hadn't thought of what Trevor had been trying to do when he'd taken his hand. His mind had been occupied with trying to logically go from point A to point B. Point A was where they had been and the spell Trevor would have said. Point B was where they were now and what the spell or the personal gain consequences had caused. It was too hard to put the two together though.
He kind of shocked out of the thoughts when Trevor said he hadn't been able to negate the empathy. Negate? Why did I use that word? He shook his head, not entirely sure what he'd been thinking. "It's okay Trev. It's just my own emotions are so similar to yours that I don't know which ones to block out and it's not a good idea to block out my own. I should be fine once we're all able to calm down."
He too could sense the fourth presence in the park. His empathy picked up on the emotions just like Trevor's fear projection picked up on the fears. It gave him an idea though. "Brody, can you try to use our connection to orb to the person. I can sense him too, and maybe he can help us. It's worth a shot." It was a bit risky, but what was a little risk? Risk? I'm normally not the one to take risks. I learned that the hard way when I was younger. Yet those memories were there to an extent, but the learned apprehension was being lost. This age change was starting to really effect them. Pretty soon it would be like they'd never been older than this.

Honestly, he was starting to feel ready to cry. He wasn't one to accept being lost so easily - there was a vague spell he could remember that he once told... someone. Something to summon someone to help him. There were bits and pieces of the memory gone, though, which only left him in a jumble of confusing thoughts. He leaned unconsciously in to Brody, knowing full and well that Brody would be able to protect him.
"We can't just orb to him..." He said after one insufferable moment of mounting tension. This closeness was amazing to him, it made his heart flutter and feel right. Of course, at ten, that just whorled more emotions into the already distracted child.
"He might be a normal person or... uhm... a demon." The idea of a demon being almost laughable. Of course, that was not the right context either - he knew there were demons, and yet he was having a hard time remembering how to identify with them. Tay was a demon.
And yet demons had a sheen of movie-luster in his mind.
Closing his eyes, he suddenly felt the full force of casting the spell. It had cost a lot of his own energy to do, and it was now making his ten-year old body feel sluggish and heavy. For now, he'd have to push it to the side. "I don't feel so good." He murmured. "Can we go... uhm... 'up there'? We'd be safe there until we figure out wha's goin' on. That's the only safe place I can think of..." He added, trying to be as helpful as he could be, considering their worsening mental states.

Askadelia appeared in black smoke after she had teleported into a park and found three children that we're perfect to steal life force from. She had come after searching for magical children that allowed her longer to survive then just stealing life from mortal kids. When she got closer the woman used her invincible power and went to sneak up on a one that wasn't what appeared a twin with a smile. It was too simple because the woman just had sneak up to that one child and was within her grasp when she tripped over a rock then tripped falling forward. Delia soon appeared infront of them and got up quickly going to grab one of them to suck out their life.
She had to suck out a child's life once every few months to maintain her beauty and wasn't going to let this chance anytime soon enough. When she looked at them then went to grab just one of them and vowed that one would die on this die with no one to defend them.

Trevor had a point. Brandt didn't want to admit it, but it was true. They couldn't tell anything about this person. Neither Trevor's fear sensing nor Brandt's empathy told them if the person was good or evil or even magical. Admitting that didn't solve anything though, not that doing the wrong thing was really a solution.
"Brody, can we go up there? I don't know if it's allowed, but considering the circumstances maybe they could make an exception. Besides, I don't think we have much else in options. Something about this place doesn't feel right and we're not safe here while we don't understand what it is."
He wouldn't have seen it if he hadn't been glancing around while speaking, but he did. He saw the woman appear on the ground and then jump up running toward Trevor. That couldn't be good. Something just told Brandt it wasn't.
"Look out!" Without even thinking about the reaction he blasted a fireball at her, one quite a bit larger than he'd ever managed before. One part of him now wanted to yell at Brody to orb them out of there, but he was still in shock over the fireball. I don't have that kind of power. Or I shouldn't..... What did we get ourselves into?

His much higher-than-normal-voice yelped at Brandt's warning - his mind was racing, but his muscle memory seemed gone. He spun, and in a flurry of pants that were just too big and shoes that stayed put while his feet turned, he found himself on the ground, the fireball gliding neatly at the woman. He himself had very little in the ideas as to what was going on - a woman attacking them out of nowhere? They didn't even have their bearings as to where they were or what had happened.
Of course - that made them vulnerable. Of course, no one would be able to tell they were all relatively powerful witches. And, despite their age, they weren't ones to be trifled with.
The problem now, was that he'd been so close to Brody, that when he started to fall, he flailed enough to grab at him, in a vain attempt at stopping his fall. The only thing he'd succeed in on that front is probably pulling Brody down. The next problem was that with his negation wonky, he couldn't prevent her from retaliating against them all. Her fear, though, her fear was easy for him to read. A lot easier than it should have been - but she was wearing it like a dress.
She was terrified of getting old. Old, and ugly. Two things that demons didn't usually care about. But that didn't matter right now - what mattered was them getting to safety. The only safe place they could come up with was the one two of the three had suggested, and only one of the three could travel to. Brody was able to tow he and Brandt along, but Trevor wasn't to certain how keen he'd be on that idea.
Lifting his hand from his downed position, he attempted to hone in on her fears - he didn't account for the fatigue that hit him like the sky was falling. The energy required for that spell had been a lot, and it was only adrenaline that had him moving so well up until now. Bringing out her fears was a near impossibility.
"I don't think I can fight her off!" He said, his voice betraying how scared he was. She was taking advantage of a ripe circumstance, and he couldn't do anything but look to the twins for protection through half-narrowed eyes. "We have... we have to get out of here!" He added, for emphasis. Brandt might be able to take her on his own, but should they risk it? In these forms, they were at a great disadvantage.
He started to narrow his concentration on her, just in case they did have to stay and fight - this way, he could start rapidly aging her if push came to shove.

Brody was not at all sure of what to do, and Brandt and Trevor going back and forth about it made him even less sure. He'd always been confident and calm, but under these circumstances it just wasn't happening. He had to orb them out, it was just a matter of where they were going.
He was so distracted he didn't really notice what was going on until it was too late. Brandt shouted and Brody felt himself falling as he was pulled over by Trevor. They were vulnerable right now, far too vulnerable.
Can we go up there? The question asked by both Brandt and Trevor echoed in Brody's mind. He wasn't sure if he was allowed to take them up there, but in this case he'd take the risk of it not being allowed. It was far more likely all three of them would get killed if he didn't, and with Trevor not able to fight her off Brody didn't want to risk that Brandt's fire and conjuring wouldn't be enough. After all, it's not like I can do anything.
Without a second thought he grabbed Brandt's ankle in one hand while putting an arm around Trevor. Despite his worry about what might have happened to him considering Trevor losing a power, blue-white orbs surrounded the three and drifted up into the sky. When they settled again the three were on cloudy surface. "I just hope I did the right thing."
