Sixteen year old Ashley Crummington walked along the darkened shore, arms crossed and sobbing. The beach was closed but Ashley didn't care for no one could even see her, she was but a speck moving along the water's edge. Following her mother's recent death, Ashley suddenly discovered she had the ability to mentally affect electronics. She was new at it and had no idea how to controli t, so every time when she got stressed, cell phones, computers, even alarm systems went wacky, some even exploded or fried. So she went where she couldn't disturb anyone's lives.
Tanner was sent to kill the young technopath for her power was rare and would prove to grow over time. She especially posed a huge threat considering the world was practically a giant computer. Tanner was right for the job because of his ability to prey on weakness and insecurities, also he was the most knowledgeable of demons when it came to technology above ground.
After a little research, a power nap, and a drink, Tanner shimmer a good fifty yards from Ashley. He started to stalk behind her first slowly, then close enough to be seen if the girl should turn around. This provided the right sense of eeriness to offset her and get her hyped up. Tanner knew her power was hard to control, and out here she was a sitting duck for the fact there was almost nothing around and her conflicted emotions would hinder her power. He smiled inside as she stalked ever closer, using his sway over the air around him to stir up the atmosphere with a chilly wind. The knives concealed under his clothing started to gain a nice, cold feeling as the blades chilled under the strange San Francisco chill that the water provided.

The mission was simple : Protect the girl. She was young, vulnerable and probably scared out of her mind. That was always one of the possibilities when you find out that you are special and just don't know how to deal. It was life though and one way or another she'd make it through this and be stronger for it. Now, it was up to this female to make sure that she got to see that next day. From the information that she got from, sources, this girl was a technopath, sixteen and was dire need of control and just a safe haven. There would be without a doubt someone after her, and it didn't look to good for the girl with no training at all. So of course, they call Brenda.
The sound of her black camry made a halt in the parking lot as the door opens. Stepping out of the car, she adjusts her Red T-shirt and dark black jeans, her black boots, ready for action. Well, actually, she had enough of that last night. Closing the door, she makes sure to grab her leather jacket which she puts on securely. Walking to her trunk, she pops it open as she grabs her nicely, sharpened blade, placing it in her jacket. Grabbing the gun, she blows on it softly, checking the bullets, before smirking.
"Gotta love bullets dipped in holywater, who says church was for suckers!"
Closing her trunk she begins to walk out toward the sand, her eyes scanning the area as she felt something calling her. Looking around the sandy beach, the wind picking up which I might add was extremly cold, spotted a girl. Something hit her, almost like this feeling as she shook her head.
'Looks like I'm not alone'.

The time for stalking was over. He could barely contain his excitement about yet another kill. When you were a demon, killing never got old. Besides he wanted to get this out of the way as soon as possible, for his favorite club should be getting pretty crowded right about now and Tanner loved checking out the night's potential prey. But first, he had a job to do. In a shimmer, he disappeared, reappearing behind the girl. He was quiet with the whole sneak-up. He could have reached out and grabbed her shoulder if he wanted but instead just smirked, hearing her sobs and worthless attempts to get a hold on life. The knives were burning with the desire for action, Tanner could feel it, or maybe it was just him. He carried four of them. They were excellent projectiles, for they had nice accuracy as well as impact. They could be used both as hand knives and throwing knives. Tanner was good with his hands "Excuse me, miss," he said in a clear, authoritative voice. The girl started, for she thought she was alone and turned around to face Tanner. Her lost eyes trying to focus through their watery veil. "Ready to join your mother," suddenly Tanner's voice didn't sound so friendly. He dropped all acts and reached for the back of his pants for his knife. The look on the girl's face was priceless. Confusion, fear, loss, pain. It would be Tanner's pleasure to make her death slow and painful. Nothing is worse then dying while being crushed by all human emotions your body can handle. He hit the jackpot this time.

The girl looked with terror as the sound of his voice made her want to curl up in a ball. Her eyes were watery as she took little steps backwards, her feet becoming immobilized as she stands still. The look of him reaching for something in his pocket as she saw the silver blade. Her eyes began to widen and her mouth closed with fear.
"Please...don't hurt me!"
Her voice was scratchy as she looked right into the man's eyes and a look of darkness came upon her. What was she to do? The sudden sound of a click was heard as the girl looked around. The barrel of the hand gun directed toward the head of the hunter. A look of concern looked over the girl on the ground who just watched.
Brenda, sly as a fox made sure the feeling of the icy cold gun was braised upon the back of the head of this guy. The gun was very quick and Brenda was very good with these kind of matters. He may spill blood, but...good thing it's an ocean.
"Move, and your dead! Also, don't think about using those knives of yours because I don't think they will be much use to you. Another thing is, the whole shimmering thing..I'm so not feeling right about now so don't test me." Brenda spoke in a clear tone, and she meant business. Her eyes of concerned turned to the girl who was mortified.
"Look...I don't mean to be a bitch right now but you need to stay the hell away right NOW."
Looking back at this, what she thought at least was a demon after the shimmering looked very comfortable being the stalker of a young girl, sick in a way. Kind of just makes you want to blow his brains out right at that second.

What was this? Someone came upon Tanner without him even knowing it. He would have to be more careful next time. Because of his arrogance, he may have dropped a few practices, one of them being aware of his surroundings in case someone was watching or another. Tanner smirked.
"Ah, someone else has joined the party," he said aloud, "But is she willing to get down and dirty?" Tanner guessed she was a witch. Suddenly, as if hit by a wave of memory...or instinct, the training from underground started to come back. In one swift movement, using a hidden momentum, he swiveled towards the right, wrapping around Brenda's side. He could easily have been kicked, depending how fast she was, but at least he wasn't in the bullet's way anymore.
As he did this, gaining an invisible push from an unknown source, Ashley screamed and somehow ended up flat on her stomach. Tanner was now on the ground, towards Brenda's right, on his his feet and hand, in a low crouch. He obviously has had some training in martial arts from the low defensive stance he now took. He smiled inside, as he saw the teenager lying on her stomach. He didn't know how much Brenda knew about him, but she would be confused of what happened if she didn't know the power that Tanner had. How he was able to magically flow right from out of her reach and at the same time, the technopath witch mysteriously hitting the ground. Tanner had used his power to provide a small current for him to follow, it served well with his training. While on the ground, he used the same current and shot it towards the girl's feet, allowing her to fall, getting tangled up. The best he could do now was keep his defensive stance in case the newer witch tried something for his power had just been used in a focused concentration, so it would take him a couple of seconds to regain control. Which was nothing, but in a situation like this, a couple of seconds was a lot. He waited to see what was more important to the gun bearing witch right now. Running to see if the teenager was okay, or dealing with Tanner first. Hopefully, she got the hint that she couldn't do both. Tanner started to feel his arrogance return.

The situation had shifted as the demon used his quick wit none the less to get himself out of harm's way. It was a nice trick but the first thing she learned was to always be prepared and go with what your gut is telling you, best way to survive and more importantly, Win. As he used some sort of shift in current, the sudden look of Ash who was on the ground, said it all. He wasn't just a demon, but his power was to control the wind. Right now, this meant that he was going to have tricks up his sleeve and Brenda had to be ready. As he appeared on the floor in a crouched position, she used his back to cartwheel over him as she stood upward, turning to face him her boot came fast and deadly to his face, trying to knock him off course and balance.
She was skilled at what she did---the feeling of knowing what to do and doing it well, was what she loved about it all. She liked saving people, and just helping out the cause for good, or whatever. Sure, her ways may not be exactly rolemodel of the year but if you wanted to make it through another day...you had to get down and dirty.
" What's wrong...I thought you like it down and dirty!"
Her eyes turned to Ashley who was now starting to get up. Ashley, looking startled touched her face which was cut. Damn, Brenda had to do something but right now she didn't have any sure fire game plan. In the mean time though, she could get an excellent training session today. Turning back to the demon, her gun pointed toward him.

He was used to this. He knew witches. He knew how instinctual they were. How predictable they were. He was used to fighting them. But what he wasn't used to was being kicked in the damned face like that. As he used his other free hand to reach back and pull out his knife, a hard boot made contact with his face. He grunted and reeled back, clutching his knife. A quick recover told him that the witch was back to her automatic weapon.
He smirked as he worked his jaw, getting rid off the numbness. "So, she can kick," he said teasingly in third person as if she weren't there. The air started to stir gently as it tickled both Brenda and Tanner's ears. And then without a warning, Tanner shimmered out. Nothing of him left except the knife he had held when he got kicked back.
He shimmered behind Ashley and grabbed her by the hair, and with the other hand, took out another knife, putting it to her neck. The girl screamed and struggled to get away, but Tanner was too strong. He wrapped his arm around her body, bringing her close, disabling her from moving any of her limbs. When Tanner was sure that he had Brenda's attention. He used the reserve of his power, to create a wind vortex between him and Brenda. The small, invisible vacuum posed no threat, for it only blew her hair around. But then Tanner focused it's power towards the knife, lying behind her. With one quick Woosh, the knife went airborne, heading straight towards Brenda's exposed body. There was no way, she would see this coming if she was focused on him.

She wasn't expecting that trick at all, the whole shimmer thing toward Ashley wasn't very cool. As he shielded Brenda from Ashley and held the knife up to her throat--Ashley looked with fear as Brenda looked with anger. Her hands began to curl up as she just watched him. Walking closer she felt a cool wind come over her as her hair began to move around everywhere. Brenda had just brushed her hair before this and this jerk just ruined it.
"You dick!"
Her anger was building as she looked at the girl with eyes of remorse and fury. Just then, a feeling arose. Brenda knew something was up as she heard the swift sound, almost unnoticeable to a regular person, but to her it was like clockwork. Moving her free arm back she grabbed the knife at the last second, the blade touching her jacket but nothing less. Her eyes began to fall down as she moved her knees to the ground. She started to make a coughing sound as she bent her head. Ashley looked toward Brenda with tears as she could not break free.
She had to sell it as best as she could. Luckily, she had actually gutted a couple.. actually alot of people before so she worked off of their expressions. She slowly looked back up to him, her eyes seemingly starting to close as the tension was rising.
"caecus lux lucis!"
She said the spell out loud, the latin words taking effect as a bright, blinding light appeared infront of the eyes of Tanner. It wasn't a powerful spell, but it was good enough where direction and just blurriness would take it's toll for atleast a couple of minutes. Standing up...this was her chance as she ran forward, passing by the wind and grabbed the girl. She started to run, fast and in a hurry. She hoped the kid could keep up because the first place Brenda was taking her was away from here. Stopping her at a safe spot...Brenda began to shake her head. THe whole spell stuff was eventually going to take a toll to Brenda tomorrow, so she wanted to get this out of the way. Grabbing the knife, she started to create a circle around the girl in the sand.
"What are you doing?" She asked, hesitantly.
Brenda, rolled her eyes.
"Look..I'm sending you to a place where you'll be safe and away from that dude over there. Now I need you to just shut the hell up unless you want some serious demon issues."
Brenda was harsh but she had to be. This guy wouldn't be that affected but such a simple spell. The power of it wasn't strong enough, it's what you call a distraction.

Tanner watched as the witch was embedded with the knife in her back. He smirked as he watched her collapse. A laugh broke out, as he tightened his grip on the girl, only to scare her more. Nothing was more satisfying than killing someone scared out of their wits. He talked in a low, malicious voice by Ashely's ear. "Now, since I'm already in position, would you like to die the same way as your friend there, or would you rather suffocate to death, your pick," his tone was sarcastic towards the end, he was enjoying this.
Suddenly, a bright light hit Tanner's vision. It surprised him as much as to shoot his head back. The small wind tunnel evaporated as Tanner lost control. He felt Ashley being grabbed from his hands, by who? Now that he thought about it, he heard something before the light blinded him. Latin words. The witch! How the hell could she have survived a knife to the back? Tanner was usually ready for witches and their tricks, but this witch was different, for one her magic. Still, Tanner was adaptable, he could adjust. From now on, no more playing it safe.
The light began to fade and Tanner could see again. The witch was recovered. How? He didn't care how, the fact was, that a little knife wasn't going to stop this witch, he would remember that. It looked to him as if she was going to send the girl somewhere, for she was drawing a circle around her. Tanner's lip curled up. If he had the power of energyballs, this witch would have been torched LONG ago. That's how mad he was at her.
"HEY!" He yelled walking forwards, no longer playing by the rules. He took out another knife, this one smaller. I guess you could say it was a good thing, since it could do less damage, but if you knew how to use it, it might as well as big as the others. Tanner wanted so badly to kill this witch, but he tried to stay focus. Anger was every demon's downfall. The knife might have been ineffective on the witch, but he wasn't here to kill her. No more games.
In another swift movement, the knife was airborne, heading straight towards Ashely, right in between her eyes. A perfect hit. This would soon be over soon.
