CGvE List of Powers
A List of Powers available for your character. This list gives details about each power available and also guides you when trying to select a new power.
Rules:
#1- You are not allowed to change your powers upon acceptance. This would be at the discretion of Staff.
#2- Consult Species & Their Abilities for special rules
#3- Staff has the ability to strip powers.
#4- Powers that are unavailable will not be given in any circumstance.
#5- Second and Third powers are chosen by two selected staff members and may be activated at anytime via PM. This activation occurs during the RP where it may or may not be physically exhibited but such is up to the character.
Mental.
Astral Projection.
Astral Projection is the ability to extract ones spirit from the solid vessel and travel across the Astral Plane and the Human Plane without restrictions. If the solid vessel is in anyway destroyed then the spirit will be trapped permanently in whatever Plane it was dwelling in at the time.
Clairvoyance.
This is the ability one with Sight possesses which allows them to See minutes and sometimes hours into the future. Their sight is, however, limited to just seeing their own future and not those of others around them.
Empathy.
Empathy is the ability to sense or read the emotions or feelings of others to know how they truly feel despite what they may say or how they may act. New Empaths are unable to fully control the flood of emotions they get when they are in the presence of others but in time they are able to control it, others so much that they are capable of manipulating other's emotions but this is rarely seen the user can also be used where the user can emotions from themselves to another. People possessing this power are often called "empaths."
Fear Manipulation.
This ability allows the user to detect and see the fear in the hearts and minds of others and are then able to either suppress them to the point of non-existence, like getting over a nightmare while they are also capable of amplifying them to the point of rendering the victim insane with fear and paranoia.
Illusions.
This ability allows the user to tap into the minds of one individual or more, over-riding the brains ability to determine what is real to the eyes, ears, nose and to the touch, then they are able to cast an artificial image that could range from an individual to a scene landscape to the pits of hell. If done properly, this mind trick can go completely undetectable. The strength and life span of the illusion depends on the strength and imaginative capabilities of the user.
Incineration.
Incineration is the ability for a user to use the mind to cause objects to spontaneously catch fire. Not much control comes with this ability as even years of practicing cannot control the unpredictability of fire. This ability is found primarily in Fire Starters.
Levitation.
Levitation is a form of telekinesis where the user is able to lift himself off the ground a few feet. A great deal of concentration is needed to perform this feat and even more is needed to levitate back and forth. This ability is not for transport use.
Memory Manipulation.
This ability allows the user to tap into an individuals mind, sift through personal memories and alter them, remove them and possibly add fake ones at will of thought. This power is common among the Elders.
Mind Control.
This ability allows the user to enter an individuals mind, extend his mind to connect with the other to control all thoughts, speech and movement the individual will carry out. Advanced Mind Controllers will be able to control a group of people without any difficulty.
Mind Transferal.
This is a form of mind control crossed with Astral Projection where the user extracts his conscience from his mind and enters the mind of another individual, with his body being left in a coma-like state. If the brain of the User is damaged the ability to reenter the solid body will no longer be possible and the conscience will dissolve into non-existence.
Omnilingualism.
This ability allows the user to understand any spoken language, as well as to speak the language fluently.
Precognition.
This is the ability to see in the future. Like most mental abilities, the use and effects of precognition greatly varies depending on the user. Sometimes it is only expressed in vague dreams while asleep, other times it is clear and occurs at will and when awake. Subject to extreme moderation. The difference between Precognition and Clairvoyance is that Precogs are able to see selective visions of themselves, family, friends and total strangers.
Psychokinesis.
Similar to telekinesis, this ability allows the bearer to move things they cannot see with the power of their mind. Psychokinetics are even able to affect complex machinery whose inner workings are foreign to them, such as alarms. When using this power the wielder goes into a trance like state.
Psychometry.
This is a unique form of Precognition which involves coming into contact with an object to allow for a vision of the past or the future which is connected with that object or it could be that the object acted as a stimulus to job the vision.
Retrocognition
This is the ability to see in the past. Like most mental abilities, the use and effects of retrocognition greatly varies depending on the user. Sometimes it is only expressed in vague dreams while asleep, other times it is clear and occurs at will and when awake. Subject to extreme moderation
Sensing.
This ability is used primarily by Whitelighters to help locate their many charges wherever they are around the world, especially when they are being called. This ability is also seen among Demons who can sense each other and some witches are able to sense magic in whatever form it be.
Suggestion.
This is the ability to force people to do things simply by "suggesting" it to them. This can be done in a variety of ways, by literally suggesting it to them or manipulating their thoughts. It is possible for very strong willed characters to resist.
Telekinesis.
Telekinesis is the ability to move objects with ones mind. It can be initially kick started with bursts of emotions like fear and anger and shock but after time and learning to control it moving objects will be effortless and the weight of the objects capable of being lifted will seem more and more insignificant over time. The ability originates from the mind but it can be channelled through other parts of the body such as the hands and feet mainly. This ability can also be used to enhance acrobatic skills as well as any forms of martial art.
Telepathic Projection.
This ability allows the user to transfer their own thoughts, memories and images into the minds of others.
Telepathy.
Telepathy is the magical ability to read the thoughts of another being. If the being is magical, a telepath can use their power to tap into their powers and use them as well as if they have copied the power thought this power doesn't stay for prolonged periods.
Thought Projection.
Thought Projection is a form of conjuring coupled with a weaker form of Projection. This is the ability to bring fictional, inanimate characters such as drawings or a graphic seen on the television screen or on the movie screen to life.
Physical.
Animal Orientation.
This is the ability for the user to grow animal parts such as tails or wings or to transform some of their existing parts into more useful animal parts at will such as claws, gills and fangs.
Aquatic Breath.
This allows the user to be able to breath underwater without need for gills. This ability is more commonly seen in Aquakinetics and Water Elementals.
Breath. Property of Good vs Evil.
This ability is a deadly one. Most common in those who are physically appealing. The user can use a sharp exhale into the face of a victim to emit toxins that can poison or paralyze the individual. A kiss however is without a doubt fatal.
Echolocation.
This is the ability for the user to emit a sound, the mind converts it into and echo and uses it to determine what's in the immediate environment by reflected. echoes.
Elasticity.
This ability allows the user to stretch various parts of, or their entire body in infinitely long stretches, kind of like rubber as it's stretched.
Enhanced Hearing.
This ability allows the user to hear noises beyond any level of hearing possible. Some with even more acute enhanced hearing are possible able to pick up radio waves and such with concentration.
Enhanced Reflexes.
This ability is the increased flexibility and agility of an individual beyond human standards.
Enhanced Sight.
This ability allows the user to see things beyond normal human standards. Those with more acute enhanced sight are able to see slightly on a microscopic level with concentration.
Enhanced Smell.
This ability allows the user to smell things beyond normal human standards. Those with more acute enhanced smelling capabilities are able to remember the scent of any individual they have met, determine what everyone is eating in a busy restaurant and tell what cologne the sweaty man in the corner is wearing.
Enhanced Strength.
This ability is the enhancement of the character's muscles, allowing them to hit harder, or lift heavier weights than normal. Can vary from incredibly strong to just better than average.
Hardening.
This ability allows the users to enhance their muscle character to the point that their flesh may seem hard as stone. This, however, does not make them invulnerable.
Intangibility.
This ability allows the user to scatter their molecules over a short distance, maintaining all traces of kinetic energy between the molecules as they pass through any solid objects. Also known as phasing.
Invisibility.
This ability allows the user to make himself unseen to the human eye.
Invulnerability.
This ability makes the user impervious to harm without extreme measures. The stronger the individual the greater his invulnerability.
Liquification.
This is the ability to turn partially or completely into a liquid, convenient for allowing an individual to escape any ordinary restraint such as ropes or handcuffs.
Muscle Memory.
This is an ability which allows an individual to remember and mimic any action seen with pinpoint accuracy, usually staying in their mind long after. It allows them to perform some talents such as speaking another language or playing an instrument without ever having any form of practice.
Separation.
This is the ability which allows the user to separate parts of your body and have them act of their own accord.
Shape Shifting.
This ability allows the user to change his or her appearance or body structure. This power is a highly varied ability, where the user can sometimes change shape into other humans, or grow/shrink beyond their normal body mass/size.
Sonar Property of Good vs Evil.
This ability allows the user to use sound waves to determine who or what is in their immediate environment and where exactly.
Sonic Scream.
Ability to generate vocal sounds of a higher amplitude than a normal human. This is an lethal power that can lead to paralysis and potentially death.
Sublimation.
This ability allows an individual transform into a gaseous, mist, or fog-like form at will.
Super Speed.
This ability allows the user to move at speeds faster than humans are capable of seeing. Those with this ability are capable of travelling faster than sound and possibly faster than light.
X-Ray Vision.
This is a simple ability which will allow the user to see through solid objects. In most cases this ability can be activated at will but there are some rare cases where a user permanently sees through objects.
Elemental. Aerokinesis.
Aerokinetic abilities allow the user to manipulate and generate air around them. The advancement of this ability allows the user to remove air from a particular area within their range of focus, making this a defensive and offensive power.
Aquakinesis.
This ability allows the user to manipulate and generate water around them. This ability allows the user to sometimes blast water from their hands, using it to hit a particular target.
Atmokinesis.
This ability allows the user to manipulate the weather and its elements. Many times those with this ability would conjure storms or particular elements from the sky as an offensive ability.
Chlorokinesis.
This allows the user to manipulate plant life. This includes the growth and dying of plants.
Cryokinesis.
This is the physical manipulation of ice. This ability, which is part physical, part mental and part elemental, allows the user to blast ice from their environment or generate it from where it wasn’t.
Electokinesis.
Electrokinetics manipulate electricity as an element. Many advanced electrokinetics are able to draw power from lightening in the sky, hence allowing them to attack from above or using their hands when generating electricity. Many electrokinetics tie this power with their emotions which is often times dangerous to those around them.
Photokinesis.
This is one of the rarest elements. This ability allows the user to draw their power from physical bodies of light. Many times this includes generating light from the unknown and bending light to meet their needs. Advanced photokinetics are able to use this power as an offensive.
Pyrokinesis.
This fire manipulating element is allows the user to create and manipulate fire. Pyrokinetics often have this emotion tied to their emotions, allowing them to generate heat from the environment and manipulate fire as an offensive or defensive power.
Terrakinesis.
This power is also known as Geokinesis. This is the ability to control the physical elements of the earth. This power is an advanced form of telekinesis and is extremely rare.
Transport.
see Animal Orientation
Black Orbing.
Darklighters can teleport from place to place by orbing, as Whitelighters can, but their orb effects are black in color. Their ability is once called black orbing.
Blinking.
Blinking is the ability to think of a location and be there in the "blink of an eye". This is the power of a warlock, as their way of Teleportation. Blinking is an instantaneous transfer, accompanied by a short, sharp sound
Fading.
Fading is an energy-based form of teleportation where the user just fades out from on location and fades in at the other desired location.
Flaming.
Flaming is a type of teleportation used primarily by demons. When someone uses this power, they appear to be engulfed in flames, though this does not harm the demon that uses this power.
Flight.
This power used for transportation, allows the user to lift off the ground and fly through the air defying gravity.
Gliding.
This ability is a cross between Flight and Levitation, having more freedom than Leviation but Gravity is greater than with Flight. It allows the user to lift off the ground a few feet and glide easily from one place to the other.
Glistening.
This ability is a form of teleportation where the user disappears, leaving a glistering contour of the body for a moment
Hearting.
This is the form of magical transport used solely by Cupids.
Materialization.
This is the ability to dissipate ones molecular structure by separating the many molecules down to a cellular level then to transport them to the destination where the molecules pull back together
Orbing. Orbing is an ability possessed solely by whitelighters and Elders, in which the being disappears in the usual glow of blue and white lights; however, there are some cases when the orbs will be different color, such as Gideon's are purple, and Paige's orbs were once green. As a protection from evil, orbing is the only way to get "Up There" where the Elders convene and assign their whitelighters. When someone orbs, they turn into blue lights and lose most corporeal form, and can go from place to place almost instantly.
Shimmering.
Shimmering is an evil power to transport wherever the being wants by "shimmering" one's appearance. Shimmering also allows demons to travel to different planes or time-lines, such as a time-loop.
Shredding.
This ability is a molecular based power that allows the user to disperse their molecules one place and reform elsewhere
Smoking.
One is a form of teleportation used commonly by Furies, Harpies, Sirens, and a few other breeds of demon. This form of teleportation seems to be common of female demons, though it is not common there are a few types of males with this power of teleportation.
Other/Miscellaneous. Other/Miscellaneous.
Absorbtion.
This is the ability to absorb physical attacks by an opponent. This allows the user to quell, or detract away from the impact of an opponents attack, causing the harm that it would normally cause them to be less. This attack, however, requires a lot of concentration for it to work effectively.
Accelerated Healing.
This ability allows the user to quickly heal from a harmful attack. This is usually because the cells in the user’s body would quickly repair a wound so quickly that the effect of an attack would prove invulnerable.
Acid Generation.
This ability allows the user to generate and become immune to common acids and toxikinesis. This ability allows the user to generate acid from the unknown.
Animal Kinship.
This ability allows the user to communicate with Animals. Usually, the user is particularly fond with animals, allowing them to be manipulated under their wishes. This ability also allows the user to generate animalistic features to use at their advantage.
Animation.
This allows the user to give motion to things which have none. Many times this includes allowing inanimate objects to come to life.
Astral Projection.
This ability allows one to come out of their solid body and instead project themselves into the Astral Realm. In this form, the active powers of an individual are null.
Aura Seer.
This ability allows the user to empathetically determine the actions of an individual to determine whether they are aligned with Good or Evil.
Cloaking.
This is the ability for an individual to hide themselves or another from the naked eye. This ability to cloak can also be used, when advanced, to block someone from reading their intentions and determining their aura.
Conjuring.
Conjuring allows a person to summon an object from their thoughts. Many times this includes verbal cues in which the individual would use to bring their thoughts to life.
Deflection.
Deflection allows the user to quell an attack by moving it to another target. This may sometimes include weakening a physical attack.
Density Control.
This is the ability to resize an object so that it fits the needs of the user. Advanced uses of this ability may include human beings. This is sometimes called intangibility, and means that the user can do things such as walk through walls. The increasing of one's density usually involves hardening the user's skin
Duplication.
This ability allows the user to form many copies of themselves or objects in their vicinity. Usually, the duplications are relatively weaker than the actual being or object.
Enchanting.
This is the ability to give magical properties to an object. This is limited to the users ability to manipulate their own powers and the elements around them.
Energy Blasts.
This is the ability for the user to draw energy from themselves or the environment and use it defensively as a blast of power.
Fire Breath.
Fire Breathing allows the user to pyrokinetically cause fire to come from their very breath. This can be dangerous upon kissing as the user is able to generate enough heat during locked-lips to cause the person’s mouth to explode.
Force Fields.
This is the ability for the user to form a protective layer or around themselves or a particular object in advanced stages. The field is normally proportional to the strength of the individual casting the field.
Gravitokinesis.
This is the ability to control or generate gravity. This can also be seen as a form of levitation as the user can alter the gravitational pull around a certain object or individual.
Glamouring.
This magical ability allow the user to cast an illusion upon an individual or a group of themselves.
Healing.
The ability for an individual to repair the wounds on another is called Healing. This allows the cell process of repair to be expedited.
Ice Breath.
This allows the user to form ice through their very breathing. This can be considered a form, however very specific, of cytokinesis.
Inanimation.
This is the ability for an individual to cause moving objects to become still or frozen.
Magnetokinesis.
This is the ability for an individual to manipulate magnetism and evidently things that would be attracted to magnets.
Molecular Combustion.
This is the ability for the individual to speed up the kinetic energy between molecules so much that it explodes.
Molecular Inhibition.
This is the ability for the individual to slow down the kinetic energy between molecules so much that it freezes.
Molecular Transfiguration.
Changing one thing into another is called Transfiguration. This ability allows users to change the molecular makeup of an object so that it changes physically.
Possession.
This allows the user to “take over” the physical body of another being. Being possessed allows the possessor to control the actions of the body in which it has inhibited.
Psy Blasts.
This power includes sending a blast of psychic energy from the body that acts offensively by ripping and destroying the objects it is targeted at.
Psy Bolts.
This power includes sending a wave of psychic energy out of the body. "Psy bolts" act like an offensive energy blast hitting an object or group of objects and sending the objects flying or destroying the objects by ripping it into bits and pieces from the force of the blast.
Psy Waves.
This power includes sending a wave of psychic energy away from the body in which it destroys and rips apart the object that it hits.
Regeneration.
This power allows the user to repair or regrow a damaged object or body part.
Seduction.
The ability to use ones physical attributes to attract others, also using a lesser form of mental Suggestion
Technopathy.
This is the ability to manipulate technology.
Thermokinesis.
This is the ability to manipulate the motion of molecules while changing the temperature in the immediate vicinity.
Touch of Death.
Once touched, the enemy automatically goes to a point near death, or weaker witches die on the spot. Over time, the power evolves so that it can Heal Evil characters.
Rare.
Banishing.
Banishing is the ability to banish someone or something into a dimension linked to the power by portal.
Breath of Life. Property of Good vs Evil.
This ability is one of the Rarest of them all. It allows the individual who possesses it to breath life into a dying or dead animal or person, giving over some of their life force in the process, aging them.
Immortality.
This is an innate ability to live forever, free from death but not impervious to bodily harm.
Omnikinesis.
This is the ability to manipulate and generate the natural elements Aquakinesis, Terrakinesis, Aerokinesis, Pyrokinesis, Electrokinesis and Atmokinesis.
Omnipresence.
This is the ability to be anywhere in the world or on any plane at the same time at one given time.
Power Bestowal.
This Rare ability allows the user to grant any known power to humans alone.
Power Extraction.
This ability allows the user to extract the abilities of others to use as their own or to pass on to others or to just discard on a whim.
Projection.
Projection is a power that allows the user to manipulate reality and is considered therefore to be a toned down version of Reality warping. An extremely rare power, Projection is only developed by powerful witches and magical creatures.
Psychic.
Clairvoyance, telepathy, Telekinesis, Sensing and Empathy. Those with this ability will receive no other ability.
Reality Warping.
The ability to change what is into what you want it to be. Change the past, present and future in doing so.
Solarkinesis.
Solarkinesis is a powerful elemental ability which allows the user to generate, manipulate and control solar energy, using it as a defence and an offence. More powerful users may even be able to control slight movements of the sun.
Summoning.
Summoning allows the user to call forth any sort of creature imaginable to do his or her bidding.
Time Control.
Time Control is a complex ability. It involves Inhibition time, Speeding up time, Reversing time or Travelling through time.
Note: If you wish to apply for this power, and if it has been accepted by staff, you have to determine which aspect of Time Control your character will be capable of.
Umbrakinesis.
This is the ability to mentally repulse photons to create shadows or darkness, or to psychokinetically move objects via shadow.
Forbidden.
Dark Summoning/Sacrificing Property of Good vs Evil.
This ability involves the user sacrificing any feasible innocent, taking of their flesh, bone and blood to summon a creature or creatures. This ability produces creature far worse and far stronger then with notmal Summoning.
Mummification.
Mummification allows the user to take an Innocent and mummify them into a creature to server the creator.
Plague. Property of Good vs Evil.
This ability allows the user to bring forth the 10 Biblical Plagues.
Resurrection.
This Forbidden ability allows the user to call forth the dead. But rather than coming back as the individual previously was, it comes back as a dark creature possessed by the evil of the Underworld: a mindless zombie-like creature which feeds off the flesh of magical beings, consuming their magic and growing stronger with it. These creatures are immune to most abilities.
