GOALS!?! -
- To fall in love and start a family of her own.
- Continue on her family‘s magical legacy
- Make a difference in the world, for the better
FEARS!?! -
- To fail her family and her loved ones
- Watching her loved ones die
- Being powerless, both metaphorical and magical
STRENGTHS!?! -
- She has a knack of taking care of others, making sure those around her are taken care of.
- She‘s quite gifted with her powers, and has almost complete control over them. She has gotten to the point of being able to freeze and unfreeze specific parts of people and objects, and has been known to be able to completely freeze an entire field of people.
- She‘s extremely talented at potion brewing. It probably goes with her love of cooking and baking, but potions tend to come naturally to her, thanks to the rigorous training she went through with her mother.
- She‘s moderately athletic. Her parents made sure to sign her up for various martial arts classes when she was a child, so she has some mild ability to fight hand to hand, though nothing all too intricate. She‘s definitely no Xena warrior princess.
WEAKNESS!?! -
- She has an extremely hard time trusting others, especially when it ocmes to magic and love. Letting people in is definitely a challenge for her, one she‘s working on overcoming.
- She tends to let her emotions get the best of her, far too often. While some say her ability to listen to her “heart“ is a virtue, it has proven time and time again to be a liability at least that what she thinks. She lets her feelings cloud her judgment far too often.
- Is a horrible liar, and has always had a hard time bluffing, especially when it comes to her loved ones. Her poker face is easy to read, and half the time she doesn‘t even try to pretend. She‘s an honest person, plain and simple, lying is just not natural for her, which tends to be difficult when hiding her secret.
- Far too nosy for her own good. Whoever said “curiosity killed the cat“ was definitely talking about Celeste. She has a reporters instinct, and because of that, her obsession with finding the truth definitely clouds her safety judgment.
OVERAL!?! -
SOCIAL - One of the best words to use to describe Celeste would definitely be social. The girl has never had a problem navigating herself in a social setting. It was always said that she inherited her grandmother’s inner hostess. She has an innate ability to connect with people on both an emotional and intellectual level, people of all types and backgrounds. What’s more, Celeste has a passion for people. Its why she was inevitably lead to working to save innocents as a witch. People never seem to have a problem trusting her for whatever reason, and it has worked to her advantage in more than one ways. Her bubbly, honest, and sincere nature seems to draw those around her, even when she doesn’t necessarily want them.
NEUROTIC - While its not one of her prettiest qualities, it would be quite accurate to say that Celeste suffers from a mild case of neurosis. She’s constantly worried about things, about the people around her, about herself, about her job, about her powers. Some have even been so bold as to call her a drama queen. Whether that’s true or not really isn’t the point, at least not really. Truth be told, she has a habit of taking things to heart, and will never let them go. It’s a fault, yes, but it’s one she doesn’t really recognize. She has a tendency to get anxious about the most trivial things, partly because she’s a perfectionist, and partly because she knows that one mistake she makes could cost her not only her life, but an innocents life as well.
NUTURING - Celeste’s best and probably most notable quality would definitely be her nurturing personality. She was the oldest of three sisters, and the fact is quite obvious when you see interact with others. She is constantly making sure the people around her okay, both physically and emotionally. She’s extremely family and friend oriented, and those she loves know that if they need her, she has a tendency to sacrifice her own well being to make sure they are taken care of. While at times this does get her taken advantage of, truth be told it’s just who she is, and despite even her better judgment, she’s there for those who need her.
ROMANTIC - Love has always been a driving force behind most of what Celeste does, whether its obvious or not. Not only familial love, but romantic love as well. Maybe it was the fact that she was born and raised into a family where love was everywhere, but she is a hardcore believer in romance. Soul mates, chivalry, self sacrifice, it's all real to her, and it pretty much always will be as far as she's concerned. She's never been the type to sleep around halfheartedly, she's far more relationship based. That's not to say that she's not a flirt, because there's nothing more fun to her than getting flirtatious attention from a guy, whether it leads to anything or not.
[/size]
EYES!?! - A light grey, almost silvery.
HAIR!?! - Naturally it’s a sandy blonde that is neatly kept and falls down to the middle of her back. Though she does have a habit of dying it, just to keep things new and exciting.
FACE!?! - She has a very feminine face. Her lips are probably her most notable feature, always described as being soft and pouty.
BODY!?! - While she does have an athletic build, most who have seen her describe as lean, but curvy, voluptuous even. Not that she’s all that concerned about that type of thing.
UNUSUAL!?! - The only piercing she has are the ones in her ears. She doesn’t have any tattoos, and no real scars to speak of. That’s what whitelighters are for,
OVERAL!?! - Standing at a relatively modest 5’7, just by looking at her, most people wouldn’t think that Celeste Forbes was any type of force to be reckoned with. She doesn’t look intimidating, she doesn’t look dangerous, she simply looks like your classic pretty girl, simple and harmless. Her build is an athletic and fit one. While she is by no means bone thin, she tends to take care of her body as thoroughly as possible. Still, despite her constant care, she has yet to lose her feminine curves. Her curves, for the most part, are one of her most noted features, at least when it comes to her body. While as a child, she would be the first to admit her curves proved to be more of a self-esteem issue, now that she’s grown and learned how to eat and properly present herself, most would say her curves only bring out her beauty.
As far as Celeste’s facial features go, it would be safe to say that she inherited her mother’s classic feminity. From her large, almond shaped silvery grey eyes, to her puffy lips, ven her round and voluptuous cheeks are all courtesy of the Montgomery line of women, not the Forbes. Still, her bone structure and her light, almost snowy complexion her all of her father’s doing, as is her full head of dirty blond hair. Ah, her hair… probably Celeste’s favorite part of her body, as with most women. For Celeste, her hair is an extension of not only her personality, but her mood. While naturally it’s a rich dirty blond, she has been known to dye it an array of shades, from a deep red, to platinum blonde, she even went through a brunette phase at one point. At the moment, her hair is it’s natural color, for the most part… with some high lights. Now that she’s starting her life in the professional world, she wants to look as professional and mature as she possibly can.
Personal style has always been a pretty big thing for Celeste. For a rather large part of her teenage years, clothes were her life. She even had dreams of becoming a clothing designer… that is until she realized she couldn’t draw to save her life. In any case, Celeste loves clothes, of all kinds. Typically, she has adopted a rather sophisticated look, especially now that she’s working for the Bay View mirror. You can typically see her in designer jeans and blouses, an array of shoes, from flats, stilettos, boots, and sandles, and even the occasional skirt and dress. To be honest, she has never really been all that into the revealing clothing, her mother forbid her when she was child, and the mentality simply stuck. She’s likes to keep things classy, still sexy, but more subtle.
MOTHER!?! - Giselle Forbes-Montgomery - Deceased - Witch
FATHER!?! - Alexander Forbes - 51 - Corporate Lawyer - Witch
SIBLINGS!?! -
OTHER RELATIVES!?! - N/A
IMPORTANT!?! - Investigative Reporter
FINALLY!?! - At ones first glance, it might seem like young Celeste Forbes was born into a typical, normal, and every day family. With two young parents, both financially and professional stable, married, and mentally sound, it was the classic example of an all American human home. The American dream, and for the msot part, that’s exactly what it was… with one small exception. Giselle Montgomery and Alexander Forbes were not all together human… well not completely. Both the Montgomery line, and the Forbe’s line were known for being extremely powerful and experienced witches. Both parents grew up knowing that they had a larger and more important destiny, lying far beyond the mundane aspirations of climbing up the corporate ladder. They were key players in the fight between good and evil, as was every other magical witch on the planet. However, the Forbe’s family was different, well, the Montgomery side of the family was. They had an entirely different role to play in the coming battles. Giselle Forbes-Montgomery came from a line of a special kind of witch:Long ago, centuries past when angels and elders past the fight against evil on to the magical creatures on earth, the angels in heaven had one last trick up their sleeves, one last attempt to tip the odds in their favor. They imbued their souls, their magical essences in three separate crystals, powerful crystals with unique powers unto themselves, designed to not only protect the chosen witch, but to ward off and fight the evil that they were sent to fight. The three crystals were split, given to three of the most powerful and prized witches of that time, all of different families and bloodlines. As the generations went one, each crystal would be passed from person to person, mother to daughter, father to son, and so on. These three chosen families bore the mark of the “Peace Keepers”, and were said to be chosen not only by the angels, but the creator himself, to work as champions of good. Unbeknownst to them, however, Deimon, the powerful demon of the underworld, had a similar goal in mind. Three crystals with destructive properties just as powerful as the angelic ones, were passed down to three evil bloodlines, consisting of both demons and warlocks. These chosen bloodlines were known as the “Death Bringers.” The catch of the matter, however, is that if in the rare instance that all six crystals were brought together, and the proper spell or ritual was cast, the powers of both good and evil, light and dark, would fuse together, and unleash an incarnation of the Seed Power… the power of creation. Little else is known about the outcome of this event, however this has been enough to inspire a greed, especially in the underworld. These Death Bringers and Peace Keepers have targets on their head, and are both feared and coveted in many circles, both good and bad. Thus is the responsibility each bares, their blood right.
So, needless to say, Celeste Forbes was not like other girls, not even like other witches. While her mother was in fact a “Peace Keeper,” in the possession of one of the six Holy Crystals of the Angels, she refused to let it dictate her family’s life. She managed to give her three daughters, Celeste, Olivia, and Whitney, as much as of normal wiccan life as possible, and hadn’t even told them about their family history. So, the girls lived a life of normalcy, well as normal a demon fighting wiccan family could lead.
While for everyone else in her family, being a witch was one of the most important aspects of life, for Celeste it was quite the opposite. She had always been obsessed with living a normal life. Even as a toddler, while her sisters would obsess over using his powers in the house whenever they could, it was Celeste who refused to. She would have much rather played with her Barbie dolls and tea set than casting spells and making potions. What’s ironic, however, is that her desire to lead a normal life came from fairy tails, the stories her mother told her as a little girl that had been doused with magic and enchantment. In her mind, however, all of the girls in those stories who ended up getting their prince and living happily ever after were Princesses, the ones that didn’t have magic and could live normal lives. So naturally, if she wanted to be a princess, she thought she couldn’t use her magic.
Her mentality didn’t change in school either. It seemed the older she got, the more she wanted to live a normal life. While at home, her parents forced her to learn to control her powers, it was always a chore for her. They said, however, that her powers were as much a part of her as her arms and legs, and if she didn’t exercise them, then ultimately emotional triggers would prove to be quite dangerous for her and the people around her. As much as she tried to fight it, being a witch consumed her home life. Her mother would teach her how to write spells, how to brew potions, all of it. They were, in actuality, a demon fighting family of witches, and because of that they were the target of many demonic attacks, so learning these things was quite important in the survival of not only her, but her family and friends as well.
It was actually a pretty sad story once she got to high school. Just by looking and talking to her, one would think she would be your classic Class President type of girl… plenty of friends, involved in all sorts of extra-curriculars, the works. Unfortunately, try as she might, her social life did indeed suffer. While her parents made sure that scholastically she was at the top of her class, everything else was left to the gutter. It seemed once she was able to reconnect with her friends, something would go wrong to ruin her reputation or just make her look weird all over again. Whether it was a spell gone awry (she was notorious for disregarding the personal gain rule when she was a teenager), family emergencies pulling her away, or just freaky things happening around her and her family that just made her look… well, like a freak. It was because of this very reason the girl decided to coast through her magical training, slacking off in order to save what was left of her social life… unfortunately she would pay for it later.
At the end of her senior year in high school, it seemed that the demon hunting had finally gotten out of control. Her father had managed to track down a nest of Vampires. He lured them to their home while the children were at school, and engaged in a battle. Celeste and her sisters arrived just in time to help their parents with the fight, but when it came right down to it, the outcome of the battle relied on Whitney’s power. Unfortunately, her power hadn’t been developed enough to take them down, and in the end, they demons managed to over power the Forbes family, and left both her mother and youngest sister devastatingly wounded. If it hadn’t been for their whitelighter, Celeste’s mother would have died in their house, all because Celeste had choked.
It was because of this fact, Celeste decided that as much as she rejected the craft, being a witch was part of her life, whether she accepted it or not, and the more she fought it, the worse the outcome. So after graduation, she decided to stay close to home and attend UCLA, so she could spend a little bit more time with her family to catch up on her magic. It was during this time of training that Celeste not only re-familiarize herself with the craft, but she also got a chance to reconnect with her family, who she’d actually pushed away out of resentment during her high school years. Unfortunately, that connection came a little too late for her mother, who killed almost suddenly by an upper level demon, who had apparently been looking for Giselle in particular. The demon had attempted to steal her necklace, what Celeste knew to be a family heirloom, however her, her sisters, and her father managed to vanquish him before he was able to take it.
When Celeste went to her mother’s side to mourn, something odd happened. The crystal around her mother’s neck, the family heirloom, began to glow a deep sapphire. Celeste, mystically compelled to touch it, picked it up, and from what her sisters described, her entire body glowed. It was at that moment, her body forged the connection to the crystal, and all over ancestors who wore it before it, including her mother. It was later explained to her that by her white lighter that her mother’s legacy was passed down to her. He explained the lore behind the crystal and the “Peace Keepers,” as well as her new responsibility. It had hit Celeste hard, the fact that her mother could hide that much from her, and her new responsibilities coupled with her mother’s death was extremely overwhelming.
It had taken about a year for Celeste to completely grasp the concept of both her mother’s death and the fact that she inherited her responsibility. Couple that with college, and you can bet your ass the girl was busy. Still, the constant work load had been good to keep her busy, get her mind off of her loss. She delved into her studies at UCLA, where she majored in Journalism, while still managing get a handle on her powers. By the time she graduated from college, she had not only come to terms with her mother’s death, but also her destiny. When she was 23, she moved away from her home in LA to start a life for herself in San Francisco. She got a year long internship at the Bay View Mirror, after which she was offered a job as junior investigative reporter. Along the way, she has been pursued by demons who both want her killed because of her wiccan ancestry, and because of the crystal around her neck, however she’s managed to stay strong. What will the rest of the future hold for her? Only the creator himself knows.
