Landon walked into the living room brushing his hand across the sofa and walked to the book case. He grabbed a thick book off the middle shelf and walked over to a soft arm chair and sat down in it, the chair seemed to swallow him up as he sunk into the chair. He opened the book and begun to read about some boring law terms as memories ran through his head of his parents, how his mother was always in the kitchen cooking, how his dad was always in this exact seat reading one of the tomes in the bookcase, and how they always seemed to be there for him and his brothers. Now they wouldn't be, it was up to him to keep his brothers in line and to 'bring in the bacon' as his father would say.

Aaron came down the stairs from his room on the first floor. He was about to walk into the kitchen to grab a bite when he noticed Landon in the living room...in dad's old chair. He halted for a second, then redirected his path into the living room and stood over by the coffee table looking at the pictures up on the wall of the family, then his eyes fell on one with the three of them, then beside it one with him and his parents, just before he left hom for college. "I miss them." He said softly to his brother, not making any sort of eye contact or anything that said he was refering to Landon.

Jordan was at the University all morning settling his dorm fees so that he would be able to move home with the rest of his brothers, particularly since they buried their parents, they all figured they needed each other, and Jordan didnt want to be the difficult one. Even though he had already paid for his dorm fees two years in advance, settled cafeteria prices for the rest of the month, and already organized his dorm room so that he had enough space to lay around whenever he wanted, he sacrifaced all that time and energy to move to the house he moved from when he decided to pursue his career.
He was wearing a t-shirt and long jeans, his book bag on his shoulders, and carrying a box of his last stuff from the University in his hands. Struggling, he managed to push through the door to land into the living room where he noticed Landon was sitting, and Aaron over looking at the pictures, and instead of the normal phatic comments, Jordan dropped the box in the corner and through his bag into the long chair, panting as he was relieving himself. Looking over to Landon, he said nothing, turning away as if to head into the kitchen.

"Nothing gonna bring them back" Landon put simply to Aaron, "So try not to wallow over them that much, I miss them but I'm gonna get on with my life" He continued to say with a slightly cold tone in his voice. He got up from the chair and put the book back in the exact same place. He looked over to Jordan and picked up his boxes and bag going to take them up stairs to his room.

Aaron looked suddenly from the photos to his brother. he was feeling deep loating for him right now, just as he did when they were younger. "You think you're so strong huh, don't be such a freak dude." Aaron said as he turned and dropped onto the couch opposite where Landon sat. These next few days were going to be the worst days ever, living with his brothers.

Jordan was inches away from the kitchen and didnt even know if Aaron was speaking to him or not, but Jordan suddenly squinted, and turned away from the fridge and walked back into the living room. Each of them had their ways of mourning their parent's death, and Jordan's way was by showing no emotion, simply avoiding the memories that he held for them, and he wasnt going to change his mind on doing so now.
The boy's comment were rude to him, and Jordan was just inches away from the couch when he shouted, "My bag is in that chair! Get off it!" He said, not knowing that it was previously taken up to his room. He looked over to the corner and noticed that the box with his trinkets were gone, and this too sent him over the edge. "Which one of you stole my stuff? This was the same reason I left this damn house, you all never learned how to leave my stuff alone." Jordon shouted, looking around the room as if searching for evidence the criminal left behind.

After putting Jordan's things in his new room he came down, he heard the comments on his way upstairs. He went to the kitchen and got a chocolate bar. "I put your stuff in your room, Jordan, Just so you know" He said as he entered the living room. He dropped the chocolate bar on top of Aaron. "Peace offering?" he said as he sat back down.

Aaron took up the chocolate bar then tossed it into Landon's lap, then he turned his gaze out the window. He still didn't believe that they were for one second going to last together, they never did, they never would. "This was a bad idea from the start.' he finally said out loud.

Jordan shook his head and threw his hands in the air, as though he had given up. He gritted his teeth, holding back the words he dared not say. He sat down in the chair that was next to the smaller sofa, and laid his head on a pillow that was resting comfortably in it. Instead of speaking, he closed his eyes, not wanting to speak to either of them at the moment. Aaron was indeed right, they should've never agreed to come back here, and he couldnt believe he didnt see this coming.

"So what...you to just gonna sit there. Before, you guys were ll over things, taking charge and such, now what, life come at you too fast?" Aaron mocked. He was so tired of them yelling at him, of them downsizing him, but he never did anything about, all he did was take cheap shots at them, but what good was it.

Jordan raised his head from the pillow and stared at Aaron, and suddenly burst into hysterical laughter. It came to one point that Jordan began pointing and laughing and suddenly he threw the pillow he was using at him, still laughing. Jordan knew how it felt being the youngest in the family, and he was glad he was over it, in some cases. His parents always seemed to focus on Aaron, Aaron this and Aaron that, and so Jordan was simply making up for lost time. "Shut up and go change your diapers!"

Aaron looked at him as he alughed like the maniac he was. But his words hit him even harder. "What's wrong J? Still pissed that you didn't get the attention you wanted after me? Get over it dude, not like I wanted it, and get a life while you're at it." Aaron said tossing the cushion back at him with greater force.

Jordan was hit in the chest with the cushion, his words slicing seemingly more deeper into his chest. Jordan sat up and held the cushion back in his hands and stared at the boy, his teeth gritted and his lips trembling. "At least I wasnt the mistake in this family!" He shot back tossing the cushion back at his brother, it acidentally hit a figurine that was on the table as it headed to the boy, causing it to drop and break.

Just like the figurine, he felt something shatter inside of him. Mistake? He was...a-a mistake? He too sat up, but it was so major, he got to his feet and stared down at Jordan. "That is a lie J. I was not a mistake...it's not true. You are so bitter that you'd stoop so low, and just after we buried our parents..." Aaron said trying to ignore what he said, but Jordan didn't say things just for the spite of it.

Jordan could've easily catch his brother in this vulnerable position, but instead he stood up and realized that the entire fight was just rediculous, and he wasnt making anything better by arguing with his younger brother. His head dropped at the broken figurine and he sighed, rubbing his head through his dark hair, his green eyes now staring into his brother's.
Jason knew when he went over the line, and when he could continue to push their buttons. He extended his hands around Aaron, tears rolling down his eyes as he remembered the time when they were smaller and they fought and their parents made them hug and make up. The moment felt the same, except, except no one was there to tell them what to do.
